Keiji Inafune wrote:The question. What is “Human Appeal”?
Hello, everyone. This is Keiji Inafune. For those who have been waiting for my new game I have some good news.
I proudly present KAIO, my very first console game originating from my new company.
The story is set in the adventurous great ocean where heroes fight for their ambition, justice, and their lives. You can expect a truly exciting gaming experience in this world of KAIO.
"The right wins, the wrong loses".
This ideal doesn’t closely resemble the situations in actual times of battle. In battle the strong wins and not necessarily the right. In battle, the last man standing is right. If this is true, what is needed for heroes is not “righteousness”, but “strength”.
Then again, it doesn’t matter how strong one becomes. If one doesn’t overcome his own destiny, then he cannot win over the tide of history.
But what is real “strength”?
Why does one hunger for “strength”?
What I want KAIO to visualize is “human appeal” itself. What is beyond the “right and wrong” or the “good and bad”? What is waiting in the end? I truly hope you will join me in this adventure!
There’s still some work to be done before completion. Meanwhile, please watch the teaser trailer over and over and wait for KAIO patiently. All good things come to those who wait.
I will not disappoint you.

Damien McFerran wrote:Remember KAIO: King of Pirates, the 3DS title developed by Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune? The last we heard, the game was looking good for a worldwide launch, but the proposed 2012 release date never materialised and the title has been considered MIA since then.
However, according to the official website, Inafune's "Pirate Action Adventure" has charted a new course: 2014. The site doesn't give anything more concrete than that, and continues to claim that the title isn't coming out of Japan — although that particular disclaimer is dated October 2011, so it's safe to assume it's no longer valid.
We're still super-keen to play this game, so let's just keep those fingers crossed that it does indeed set sail next year — and that a western release is still on the cards.
