Team17 announces new IP Flockers

Worms creator now working on new brand revealed during PlayStation Open Day

Team17 has lifted the lid on a brand new IP, Develop can reveal.

The Worms developer is currently working on a game entitled Flockers.

The firm announced last year that it hasn't created a new IP for more than a decade and that it is investing heavily in it now.

The new franchise was revealed by Team17 MD Debbie Bestwick during today’s PlayStation Open Day in Royal Leamington Spa. It will be officially announced next week.

"This is the most important game we've worked on in over a decade," she said.

Team17 has repositioned itself in recent years as a digital publisher, but this move reiterates that it is still dedicated to games development – and not just on more iterations of Worms.

Bestwick didn’t offer any more information on the new IP but judging by the logo, we’re guessing Steampunk and Team17’s love of dangerous sheep are both central to the brand.

Flockers Coming to Steam Early Access in May

Leading independent developer and publisher Team17 has today announced that their dark, puzzling new IP, Flockers, will be available for PC via Steam Early Access on the 6th May 2014 for just £11.99/$14.99/13,99 €.

Flockers is a modern day take on the classic A to B puzzle genre with a generous helping of sinister foreboding and dark humour for good measure.

For many years sheep have been an integral part of the Worms™ legendry weaponry. Now you must save them from their explosive fate and escape the fearsome factory. Flockers invites you to step hoof into this sinister, steampunk inspired world as you navigate the hapless sheep through a plethora of dark, heinous puzzles in an attempt to save them from their impending doom.
