I did some digging and found out that screen was a little different than Mach Storm, in that it is larger to accommodate the space two players need and that the effect is a not precisely the same as Mach Storm (which can be a little disorienting at first) as your focus moves around a bit more. It still is a very unique setup that can draw attention by the screen alone. I also found out that this is planned, at least for testing, in the US.
Today Bandai Namco has released a trailer which gives us a near 4 minute look at the game. It is a bit cheesy but notice they use Americans as the players, which seems to confirm the interest in bringing this overseas. The game itself is similar in a few ways to Deadstorm Pirates including the targeting reticules, enemy behavior, co-op shots and incentives, some of the theme elements such as exploring ancient ruins, featuring 5 levels, etc.. Instead of pirates, it appears the player characters are modern explorers/treasure hunters. There is a strong emphasis on treasure collecting with this game and the video shows Banapassport support to save your progress (we have not seen support for this overseas recently so perhaps the US version will use a PIN or something along those lines). As for a release date, the video description translates: “Appeared in arcades nationwide summer 2014! First ever! Spherical-screen unexplored adventure Gun Game “Lost Land Adventure”. View MAX! The great adventure everywhere you face!”. From that I assume Japan gets the Summer release and elsewhere can be any time. Mario Kart Arcade GP DX was released last Summer in Japan but it took almost a year for it to be released overseas.
