Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
http://games.capcomdigital.com/streetfighteriihdr/

Here it is, the dedicated thread! Before I continue with my thoughts I must inform you that Street Fighter II is my all time favourite game series. I've downloaded the demo yesterday and played some matches with a mate. First impressions:

Graphics
The backgrounds are very nice, the sprites though have less charisma compared to the originals. The option to use the originals is half-baked as the sprites are destroyed by the interpolation scaling effect. Especially in widescreen it's very annoying. Menus, title screen and others are nicely rendered with clear colours. The arcade intro is absent from the demo.

Sound
Mixed bag. Some remixed tunes are nice, others sound out of place. The sound effects are virtually the same as the original. Nothing extraordinary.

Controls
Normal moves seem to respond with no lag or other issues. Special moves are MUCH easier to perform, maybe easier than ALPHA/ZERO games. Especially Dragon punches come out so easily, that you will find yourself Dragon Punching even in moments you have no intention to do so! That seems problematic to me. I used the stock 360 pad, so maybe my opinion should not count that much.

The sprites look absolutely terrible. Visible hitboxes and such sounds nice though.

I wouldn't call them sprites even. More like deviantart fanart cut around the edges.

They should do Guilty Gear next. That'd be a riot.

I purchased the full game and played many matches during the weekend. Sprites aside the game is not a waste of time. It provides some excellent (not perfect) network performance for a fighting game and has a great amount of people playing it online.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix Strategy Guide and Mov

Unread postby catalyst_nc » 15 Dec 2008 02:57

http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/oct/27/super-street-fighter-2-turbo-hd-remix-strategy-guide-moves-hints-and-tips/

This link contains a strategy guide and move listing for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix.

Inside you'll find some pretty solid character guides and a few other things, but please note this is not yet finished, as some of the characters need to be fleshed out.

I'll be continuing to update these guides on a regular basis until they're complete.

Also if you have anything you'd like to add, please feel to leave a comment here. I try my best to give credit to everyone who contributes to the guides.

Enjoy.

It gets repetitive, but you ARE THE MAN...

Thanks. Yeah, repetition is one of those things I've been trying to avoid, but unfortunately there's only so many ways to say similar things about the characters.

I need to invest in a Thesaurus. ;-)

Have you seen any hints to the possible tier-ing (?) in this game?

Maybe we should consider Sirlin's articles and try to research which and if any of the changes have resulted in a more balanced character set compared to the arcade original. I have played more than 100 matches with online opponents and in my humble opinion the changes cannot make a difference if you do not belong in the elite of players.

He meant it gets repetitive telling you that he likes your work. Because he has done this in every thread where you linked your website's updates. He did not mean the updates were repetitive.

Ahh, my bad. Thanks for clarifying.

Still pretty early in, I think we may start seeing some legit tier lists come out in the next few months or more.

Sirlin tried to boost up the lesser fighters so they could compete with the top end characters, and bring down some of the abusable stuff the top end characters had, but I think for the most part the tiers haven't changed a lot in regard to the best characters.

I'd still say Sagat, Dhalsim and Balrog rule the roost. Vega (Claw) and Chun Li are right up there.

Beyond that, the bottom tier guys got a lot of new things, but even then it's hard to say how good that stuff is until we see a lot of play time.

Basically, the old tier list is still some what relevant right now, but I'd say the difference between who's good and who's terrible is much, much smaller.

The Cammy guide on EventHubs.com has been heavily revised.

http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/oct/27/cammy-character-guide-super-street-fighter-2-turbo-hd-remix/

This is also the first character we've added individual match up notes to:

http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/dec/21/cammy-vs-character-strategies-super-street-fighter-2-turbo-hd-remix/

This will be a running theme on the website, as all of the guides should have individual match up information added with time.

Also, the Cammy guide still needs some work, but it's in a pretty decent state right now.

Enjoy.

Guile's HD Remix strategy guide has been updated on EventHubs.com.

http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/oct/27/guile-character-guide-super-street-fighter-2-turbo-hd-remix/

This guide is in pretty good shape right now, although there some areas that still need to be expanded on a bit.

Also continuing with the previous theme, there's a page up that contains individual character vs. strategies for Guile.

I hate when the PS3 version glitches all to hell, and I hate when my connection causes drops, and I hate the new art, but I sure am appreciating the competition. This is the first time I've seen any competition at all in a SF, and it's nice to start getting my cookie-dough ass whipped around.

[SW] Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers announced for Nintendo Switch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqFA6FyXTJA

Evil Ryu vs Violent Ken Match Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxISJX7_FGE

http://shoryuken.com/2017/01/12/ultra-s ... do-switch/

Franz "d3v" Co wrote:This upcoming game, however, isn’t just a port of SSF2T HDR; rather, Capcom has confirmed that it is an new Street Fighter II game called Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers.

As indicated by the footage from the Nintendo presentation, the game will feature the updated graphics from SSF2T HD Remix, as well as a cooperative mode that allows two players to team up against the CPU. In addition to these, the game will feature 2 new characters: Evil Ryu makes his return (after his last appearance in the Street Fighter IV series); joining him is a character who has never appeared in a Capcom-developed Street Fighter game–Violent Ken. Appearing only in SNK Playmore’s SvC: Chaos, Violent Ken represents a Ken that has been brainwashed by Shadaloo and imbued with M. Bison’s Psycho Power–a concept originally from the classic Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.

Another notable feature is the ability to switch between the update UDON art from SSF2T HD Remix, and the original “pixel” sprite art.
