Presumably comprehensive list of what was shown at E3 2013:

At the bottom they tally the exclusives: 18 for the Wii U compared to 8 for the One and 5 for the PS4, but when you have "titles" like Wii Fit U and Wii Party U, the advantage seems meaningless. On the other hand the console does have the coolest exclusives so far: nothing on the other two machines can match Platinum's games for sheer must-play factor. And the multiplatform stuff should all be played on PC anyway with 3 screens or the Rift or whatever. So I think I am going to put off pre-ordering anything and just get a Wii U once the first Platinum title hits. I am going to France in December for the winter anyway, and by the time I have the new consoles through customs it'll be time to leave. So I'll let them solve the supply issues and any first-run technical problems there may be, and pick the new systems up in the spring when the prices of the launch titles will have decreased a bit as well.

I think Nvidia and Intel should start pimping PC exclusives. "ONLY ON PC", etc. They are the only major hardware companies that have nothing to gain regardless of who wins the console war. If consoles completely vanish one day, they only stand to gain from it.

E3 2014 is supposed to run June 10 to 12, no? At least that's what it says on its site: http://www.e3expo.com/

So why are we already getting news from press conferences?

I read in a local magazine once that the press conferences were "pre-E3", at least back in the 2005/2006 editions.

Maybe it's the expo itself (the "show" or whatever they call it) that runs from the 10th to the 12th, but the press conferences have already started. Microsoft's is over, and EA's is currently running: http://www.ea.com/e3

Here's the schedule:

10 more days until E3. Here are my four most wanted news items:

1. Planetary Annihilation expansion pack announcement

2. New RTS by Chris Taylor announcement

3. New co-op enabled WRPG by Larian announcement

4. Scalebound play footage

What's everyone else looking forward to? I'll post more if I think of any, but right now I can't think of anything that would please me anywhere near as much as the above four items.

1. Scalebound footage.

2. Rise of the Tomb Raider footage.

3. Trico trailer.

4. New Gears of War trailer.

5. Mirror’s Edge (2016) footage.

6. Watch Dogs 2 trailer.

7. Criterion’s extreme racer footage.

8. New Star Fox footage.

9. Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) footage.

10. FAST Racing Neo footage.

I’m just sticking to new stuff that has a reasonable chance of being shown and I’m sure there will be hitherto unannounced games that will be of interest.

I'm mostly excited about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Doom, Fallout 4, also anything by Larian, From and Platinum.

So none of my wishes materialized. On the other hand, we got Ghost Recon Wildlands [ > ], which, if it fulfills even a fraction of its potential, could well turn out to be the best game ever, so I am pleased. And all the stuff I asked for will eventually come anyway.

That's the game of the show for Insomnia then. And lo and behold, it's brought to us by independent arthouse publisher Ubisoft and the revered Tom Clancy franchise. Quelle surprise.
