This is merely a little preview of what is coming. It's on Qpo's machine (you see what he sees, but you hear all of us), and so it's on the lowest detail settings, with the music also turned most of the way down, and with a simple battle on a single small planet against opponents who get annihilated in like under 15 minutes with a simple bot rush. There's no air, no naval, no orbital, no nothing. It's a quick and simple stomp to test out our recording setup. The game looks 1000 times better on Uber detail, and the complexity goes through the roof if we can get opponents who know how to counter a simple fucking bot rush, so you will see 1000 times better videos from us in the future (on the official Insomnia YouTube channel etc.)

There will also be a full review of the game soon, and the unveiling of our clan, etc. Enjoy.

And tomorrow you are recording Original Sin, Qpo, and on Sunday Path of Exile, so clear up as much space from your drive as possible. Might as well give little previews to people of all the games we play, and see if we can get a few more of them to start joining us. The point I want to drive home is that we play the best games in the best way, and that we won't bite anyone's head off.

It's merely the first dungeon and a little bit of the town, so no major spoilers there. As for the quality of the game, it's out of this world, but I'll talk about that later.

I'll say this much for now, though, if you play it with less than four players you are butchering it, and if you play it with less than two you are hopeless.

Note that we are playing on Hardcore league, but in this game it works a bit differently, which is why when Qpo dies he gets a "Resurrect in town" message. When you die in Hardcore here your character goes back to town and reverts to the Standard league, so if you want a real Hardcore mode here you have to delete him (which is what we do). He's useless anyway, because he can't rejoin any survivors of your team in Hardcore league.

Note that we are a 5-person team, but you only get four lifebars at the top left of the screen, because the fifth character is you, obviously. The others' bars are distracting anyway and I would like to see if there's some way to remove them.

It's a complete stomp, once again, featuring mostly ground with a little air, orbital and nuclear action. The exciting part is that it's ten players on a couple of tiny moons, and they all start on one of them. I think it's a good match to watch from beginning to end if you want to get a sense of how team play works. Still, keep in mind that you are only seeing maybe 5% of the kind of action that's possible, because of how small the planets are, and how quickly the match ends.

ksevcov is doing the recording on his supercomputer (fourth generation i7, 32GB RAM and GTX Titan), and he is very good with the camera, panning and zooming all across the battlefield so you can see everything on glorious Uber detail, but unfortunately he set his own voice very low, so you have to really strain to hear what he says. All the rest of the voices are clearly audible, however, and the music balance is great.

Expect the next video to be on a much larger system, of possibly three decently-sized planets, and to last longer and test our skills more.

L4D video coming tomorrow.

Note that it took us 4+ hours of retries to pass this single checkpoint, and you are only watching our final, victorious attempt. The difficulty in this mode is glorious, and the game itself is also very good. Not sure if it's great yet, but I will let you know once, and if, we finish it. I definitely recommend it though, so gather three more people and give it a try if you haven't already (although for Expert mode you better make sure you have someone like Qpo in your team...)

Here's the channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/insomniacult

There's a few more videos that need to be posted, and a little fine tuning that needs to be done, but apart from that it's almost ready for prime time.

One thing I'd like to ask for is suggestions for channels to be featured on the sidebar. Give me your favorite game-related channels, tell me a bit about why you enjoy them, and give me a link to an example video so I can make up my mind about them. I probably won't like them, but give it a try because I'd like to add a few more channels if I can find any decent ones besides the ones I already have there.

EDIT: And oh, no official game dev channels, please (otherwise I'd end up listing thousands of them). I am only looking for original video content by third parties.

The above Dropbox links will soon cease to function, if they haven't already, so here's the YT links to all those videos:

PA video #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k09kzRPY2yA
D:OS video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKibedMw0bQ
PoE video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMnywfszLT8
PA video #2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK6p7NVm9kU
L4D video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkPEYPqwgLk

Note that from PA video #2 onwards all videos will be at least 1080p for games which support this resolution (or the highest resolution they support, otherwise).

I have another three or so videos that I want to upload, and one or two little details to take care of, and then I'll link the channel on the frontpage.

By the way, I have a saved replay of me playing Akai Katana on my 360, so if anyone knows how to convert it to a 720p video file, let me know and I'll send it to you. It'd be cool to also have some arcade action in the mix when the channel launches.

Channel's coming along, and now has a customized main page that can also showcase third-party videos featuring The Cult. So far I've got the Clan Wars trailer up there, and it looks great.
