Gravity Rush Remastered release date moved forward one week

Gravity action game now due out February 2.

Gravity Rush Remastered, originally slated for release on February 9 in North America and February 10 in Europe, will now launch on February 2 in both North America and Europe.

It will still launch in Japan on December 10.

The game was previously launching the same day as Arslan: The Warriors of Legend, Mighty No. 9, and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. Now it shares a release date with Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.

Gravity Rush Remastered is an updated version of Gravity Rush, which originally launched for PS Vita in 2012. It includes high-definition graphics and all three original downloadable content packs released alongside the initial PS Vita release.

In North America, the physical release is exclusive to Amazon.

In some aspects, Gravity Rush Remastered is an even more impressive achievement than Uncharted: the Nathan Drake Collection. Naughty Dog's original PS3 games were designed to look great on a modern HDTV, while the display target for Gravity Rush was considerably less ambitious. To bring the game to PS4 and for it to work this well is a considerable achievement, and in Bluepoint Games, Sony clearly chose the right team for the job.

With its native 1080p presentation, reworked assets, higher resolution effects and 60fps gameplay, Gravity Rush is reinvigorated for PlayStation 4. On top of that, the unique gameplay features of the original translate well to the Dual Shock 4 controller, and this keeps the experience feeling authentic - despite running on a completely different hardware platform. Gravity Rush is a great PlayStation 4 conversion that should go down well with existing fans of the game, while providing a great jumping-on point for those new to the title.

We'll update this piece once we have access to the UK release code, but in the meantime, you can grab the game from Asian PlayStation Stores - our recommendation would be to buy from Hong Kong, as this offers an English language option unavailable on the Japanese version. However, right now, it seems that only Japan gets a limited physical release - something to chew over for hardcore collectors.
