I'm hoping the graphics will turn out better than this, but the developers have put "vibrant pixel art style" as one of the game's main features, so I'm guessing it will end up exactly as those "indie" games icycalm recently analyzed.

That said, it apparently plays good and people at the shmups forum have been praising it:

Danbo (the main programmer/developer) wrote:we wanted to go for a sort of traditional bullet hell style game based around a fancy special weapon. it's a 4-button game, so you might find it a little awkward to play.

the scoring system is what I pretentiously termed the FLOURISH system. the idea is to quickly build up an 8-chain and get a big payoff by destroying enemies with the special weapon, resetting your chain. it's sort of a mix between two games which are big favourites of mine, ketsui and muchi pork... but there are elements from other games in there as well. midbosses and bosses additionally have little tricks you can pull off to get big score bonuses, i look forward to seeing if you can figure them out!

I've never really been into the STG genre, but lately I've been trying to change that and am currently getting hooked on Gokujou Parodius and Strikers 1945. The adrenaline boost these games give you was something I was altogether ignorant of, and I'm seriously loving it! So I'm looking forward to playing this game this summer (hoping the game's awesome music will balance out the shitty graphics for me :).

This is a deceptive way to put it:

Makes it sound like a real company is making this and that it is a real STG.

And quoting the hipster Danbo as a reliable source is also deceptive, and whoever praises him is also a hipster. And your commentary is not appreciated since you know nothing about the genre and obviously don't even like it.

In short, if you want to contribute, copy-paste and keep your thoughts to yourself.

Don't reply to this and don't try to draw attention to yourself after your banning on Orgy. If you create more work for me I'll ban you here and remove your access there too.

Actually, you are an annoying shithead so I might as well ban you immediately here too.

Not posting in months and then coming in here and making a big fuss about a shitty hipster game in a genre you don't even like. Fucking dingbat.

To explain to innocents the deceptiveness of his opening statement.

A "new STG" would mean that Cave or G.rev or Moss were making a new game. Some retard with a blog fooling around in Game Maker is not "a new STG", otherwise every time a toddler pointed a video camera in a toilet bowl the Hollywood Reporter would announce "a new horror movie".

It is only casual players and non-players who can be fooled into thinking that student projects are real games, and they can be identified by precisely this belief of theirs.
