Red Dead is the only game on this list that isn't currently announced (Other than a new Elder Scrolls which they phrase as hypothetical.)

Could this have come out too early? Or maybe it means nothing and they just want to gauge interest in open world games.

Joe Donnelly wrote:There you have it—after much speculation, teasing, and supposed domain registration, Red Dead Redemption 2 is happening. For console players.

"Red Dead Redemption 2 will release worldwide in Fall 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems," reads a post on the Rockstar Newswire, alongside some busier sunset artwork than what surfaced the other day. "An epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland, the game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

The footage also includes a voiceover that explains some of the new mechanics. It looks and sounds outstanding.

I just think the protagonist is ugly and stupid-looking (as opposed to e.g. GTA4's Niko who was "merely" ugly).

I've never as a player actually experienced something like this before, especially in a dynamic emergent game.

Go to this location, listen to what the guy on the porch has to say and then accept his creepy ass offer to enter his house, enjoy!

Funniest thing I've seen for weeks. Watch it all the way through. It warms my heart that there still exist some men among the gamer demographic.

Bravo to Rockstar for allowing that level of interactivity and player expression.

There is a huge gulf on Metacritic between user reviews and "critic" reviews: https://twitter.com/So_Ethereal/status/ ... 7755639808

Guess who got paid to write his review... And by whom...

But I knew the game would be mediocre since the very first trailer. When the trailers themselves are snorefests with plots no one in their right minds would care to follow, and the entire cast from the protagonist on down is ugly, what do you expect to happen? (Even the main illustration is ugly. The illustration with which the game is advertised is DESPICABLE, and even I can draw better than that. Even the goddamn FONT of the title is ugly.) The horse simulator and botched survival aspects were mere surprising bonuses. And of course everyone expected the combat to be bad, this being a Rockstar game. So what's left?

Rockstar died many years ago (probably around the time they changed their name from DMA Design to "Rockstar"). The industry will just have to suffer a couple of crappy blockbusters being hyped to hell and back every decade or so, due to high sales to people with bad taste and the PR frenzy that the income from such sales allows Rockstar to whip up. Thank god at least for the occasional anti-PC YouTube videos we get out of this. It's certainly worth it to me someone else's spending of 60 dollars to make them.
