A friend of mine is interested in playing this on 4-player co-op, so we're looking for two more people who haven't played the game yet to join us.

I'm down, plus. I'm ordering the game today, so hopefully someone else will join us by the time it arrives.

I've kicked Nic out of the game (and indeed the forum), so we are going to need one more player. Not plus. He had 3 people waiting for him and he shows up at the last moment to ask if it's okay to play a 4-player co-op shooter on the hardest difficulty without being able to communicate with the other players. If SP hadn't offered to step in he would have ruined my day. I will never play a game with him, so he shouldn't even bother volunteering whenever he sees me start one.

So if anyone's interested let me know here as soon as possible. We have finished Episode 3, so you'll have to get up to that point on your own, because the game won't allow you to join us otherwise. You'll need to get the "Complete Episode 3" achievement, in other words, then quite the game WITHOUT FORGETTING TO SAVE afterwards (we already had to replay a boss fight because one of the players forgot to save...) -- but I think you should be able to do this on any difficulty, and still join us on Hard. If no one has done this (and posted here about it) until Sunday 2PM PST, then the game is off for this week (though I'll still be available for Halo Wars, as long as you post your interest in the other thread in good time).

So, new LP2 game with me, recoil, Somali Pirate and feelingbetter. I am free this Sunday starting noon PST/8PM GMT. Who else is available around that time?

The earliest I can be available on Sunday is 6PM EST (3PM PST/11PM GMT), 6:15 to be safe (NYC trains can be unpredictable). This won't hold true for every Sunday, as my work schedule is quite flexible if I'm given the time to plan ahead.

How about SATURDAY noon PST/8PM GMT? If everyone can do this, it will be preferable because we'll play a lot more. If not, we'll go with feelingbetter's suggestion, though in that case we'll only play about 3-4 hours max. Which isn't bad by any means, it's just that we definitely won't be able to make it to the point where we left off on our previous session with Nic P.

Okay, if I have everyone's timezones right we are playing 12PM recoil time, 3PM feelingbetter time, 8PM icytime, and 9PM Somali Pirate time. Please make sure to read the following post so there's no confusion on the day:

Also, we COULD also play on Sunday at the time feelingbetter suggested to get another 3-4 hours in and maybe finish the game. I am just putting that out there for your consideration... No need to reply now, just think about it and we can talk about it on Saturday after the game.

I can play for at least a couple of hours starting at the time you suggested, recoil. Should be enough to polish off the campaign mode at least.

I am in too.

I was hoping we'd try the online game for a bit after finishing the campaign, if everyone's okay with that. I guess if we don't have the time on Saturday maybe next week.

Sounds fun, icy. I haven't opened a single box or changed my load-out since we started, so I'd love to experiment with some different weapons and abilities in the online mode.

It's okay. At least we got through what, a couple more chapters? Maybe we'll have better luck next week.

Here's our homework for next week. We'll each play that chapter on our own, and once we've passed it we'll watch the next cinematic, quit and SAVE the game. So we unlock the next goddamn chapter and continue together the next time. It'll even be instructive to see how the game plays with only a single player.

And make sure you do it on Hard, just in case the unlocking goes by difficulty mode.

I finished the chapter. When you play in single player, you'll get the choice of how many AI partners you want to play with (up to 3). I initially tried it alone, it was a very long grind before I got close to the end, enemy counts do not scale, so you'll end up with several large Akrid chasing you. I eventually ended up dying trying to fight two of those those giant fire ball throwing spheres. After, I tried it with 3 AI partners, it made things much more manageable since they are quite competent and take the heat off you, however, their deaths don't effect the battle gauge.

SPOILER WARNING:
Just in case you guys haven't played this part yet and don't want anything spoiled. This chapter was the end of the game, I was completely disappointed by the final boss. I was hoping for, at the very least, a VS fight like the first game.

Yeah, I don't know how to spoiler-hide text in this forum. Maybe you should have played with the font color, or if that doesn't work I should look for a mod. But simply typing "spoiler warning" is not going to do it, I am afraid. It's no big deal here, since we'd practically finished the game, but it is something to consider for future posts.

And lol at LP2. Oh well. It was a great run up to there anyway. Really glad we managed to finish one game in 4-player co-op together.
