It's not fun playing with people who don't have mics. It's like playing with an AI. I don't understand how so many people try to do that. About half the people I invited to the group behave like it's their first time online, and need to be reminded half a dozen times to get a mic, and they are still dubious about whether it's worth it. It's exasperating. They have years on Steam and dozens of "friends" and belong to several groups, and they still don't have the faintest clue how to enjoy themselves.

When your mic arrives text someone on Steam to give you the Mumble password, and then come in our Mumble server when you see us playing PA.

I see you are new to Steam. I've sent you a friend invite. You need to accept it so I can invite you to the group, and then you need to log on to Steam again and accept that invite too. So two invites in all.

You might also want to make your activity visible to people, or at least to those on your friends list. This makes it much easier for us to see what games you have, what games you like and what you are playing, and decide what games to invite you to, etc.

I'll do that, although I haven't bought anything yet. I'm waiting until I build my new PC. Planetary Annihilation is the first thing I'm buying, though.

Oh, I think that's the reason there's no data on when you were last online. You haven't installed the Steam client yet and are just logging in through the website. XBL and PSN seem to treat website access on a par with access through their respective consoles, but Steam doesn't even show you as logged in when you are accessing through their website. You can't even redeem game keys on the website.

I made you Player of the Week on our Steam group. I'll use this feature for new members from now on, and it will basically mean that people should spam you friend invites and try to chat with you when you are online, bring you onto Mumble and get you playing games with them etc., and generally show you the ropes and make you feel comfortable with your membership in the group. Obviously in your case they can only send you friend invites, since you don't have a PC yet, but I think in the future this will become handy when the group has many members and new ones might easily get lost in the sea of little icons, and hence receive little attention.

pinny sent me an email that he's about to finish building his new PC, and will be ready to play with us this weekend, so I made him player of the week on Steam until then so people can add him to their friend lists. Then next week I'll replace him with Adjudicator, who just recently joined our group.

Edit: I just sent icy a friend invite, since I want to buy him a game. This is primarily so he knows who it is.

I have Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Planetary Annihilation, and Left 4 Dead, but I haven't played the latter two yet. I'll try to get some practice in PA this weekend so that I don't bring the team down too much.

Unfortunately, my mic still hasn't been delivered, so I won't be able to play anything with you guys until next weekend.

I'm living in Shanghai at the moment with a crappy laptop, so I won't be able to play online with others until I move to a better time zone with better equipment. I plan to be back in the US before the summer begins.

Very excited to play pretty much anything with you guys. Right now I'm in the process of moving so I can't play very often, and the internet here is kinda shit. I'm hoping to build a killer PC within a couple months of relocation.
