Added the following tracks:

The Super Shinobi (1989, MD) - China Town - icy's pick
Touhou Shinpiroku ~ Urban Legend in Limbo (2015, PC) - Bamboo Forest in Flames - antman's pick

I am still listening through your picks antman; that track just jumped out at me instantly.

Added:

Grand Theft Auto V (2013, 360&PS3) - Minor Turbulence - Surth's pick
Actraiser (1990, SFC) - Fillmore - icy's pick
Bare Knuckle (1991, MD) - The Street of Rage - icy's pick

I am not 100% sure about Minor Turbulence. It's a good track, but maybe not good enough to be on the mix. If I keep skipping it while listening to the mix, it means it has to go. That's how I decide what can stay and what must go: What stays has to be enjoyable to me to listen any time, and many times back-to-back. We'll see, but for now I am keeping it.

Ahhh, yeah -- that one's probably my favourite out of the entire soundtrack, though the other songs on the soundtrack I've heard were of similar quality. Glad you liked it.

When you get around to listening to them, I'd like to know your opinion on them, which ones you thought were crap, etc., in particular those vocal tracks -- I wasn't sure if they're mix worthy or not.

Defender of the Crown (1986, AMI) - Theme (Piano Arrangement) - icy's pick

antman, I won't bother giving you individual feedback for each track, it's not worth the effort. Almost all of them are unlistenable trash, just like 80% of all tracks posted here, and 90% of all tracks posted as "good videogame music" anywhere on the internet. Only perhaps 1 out of 10 tracks is listenable, and then only within the game, where your brain lacks the resources to notice how simple and boring they are, and only 1 out of perhaps 50 of the most glowing recommendations is worthy of going on the mix. So I generally refrain from giving feedback to avoid dissuading people from posting, because if they stop posting I will lose even this filter that you guys provide, and that is indeed very helpful to me (witness the several dozen user picks already featured on the mix).

So forget about me and my opinion and keep posting links to any tracks you like. If I particularly like something you will see it on the mix or I will tell you about it. For the rest you can assume that I either hate it or that it's ok for in-game music but not to listen to it without the game.

I swear I have heard this track before, or something extremely close to it. And since I've never played this game, I must have heard it in another game. So one of the two plagiarized the other.

I'll check them out, thanks.

But I disagree that there is a lot of nice music in games. Most of it is utter dreck that is unlistenable outside the game. If you think there is a lot of nice music in games, you should try listening to real music sometime.

Eschatos -- Silver Lining

Mamorukun Wa Nororete Shimatta! -- Bless You, Boy!

Can't believe I forgot about Yousuke Yasui.

This next track by him is from the Double Arrange Album so I'm not sure if it plays in-game or not, I've only played Original mode in Mushihimesama:

Mushihimesama Double Arrange Album -- Starfall Village (Arranged)

And this random track I heard on Youtube some time ago:

Cyberblock Metal Orange EX -- Stage 1 (X68000)

Added:

Under Night In-Birth (2012, AC) - 1000 Years of Red & Black

The second half is disappointing, but the first half plus the ending are strong enough that I am including it for now, though I may change my mind after repeated listening.

Also:

Metroid Prime (2002, GC) - Title Screen Intro Theme

This is definitely staying in.

Under Night In-Birth (2012, AC) - Night Walker (Linne's Theme)
Under Night In-Birth (2012, AC) - Purity & Strictly (Orie's Theme)
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Destiny Into Darkness
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Preservation
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - What We Built
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Towards the Stars
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Prepare for War
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Requiem for the Fallen
Planetary Annihilation (2014, PC&MAC) - Ageless Struggle

Destiny Into Darkness is the full version replacing the cut trailer version I had up before. All other additions are new.

Preservation is the greatest piece of music yet written for a videogame (Destiny Into Darkness is the second greatest, and LastBoss from the Psyvariar 2 soundtrack probably the third). It's also the best piece of music I have ever heard. Perhaps I'll change my mind if I listen to more classical music, but for the time being this is how things stand. The music video Uber made out of its recording session might help some people appreciate its complexity (though of course it's always best to listen to complex music without video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8TvngLw0Kk

Added:

Psyvariar Reassemble (2015, TAB&MOB) - Opening
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (2013, PS3) - A Stranger I Remain Extended

I am still trying to determine if Reassemble's Japanese release year is 2015 or 2016.

Also, it seems the mix only works on Explorer at this point, so I will be looking to migrate it to a more modern player. Until then, Explorer is the only browser that I know for sure will still run it.
