That's just incredible. I expected them to simply ignore the issue, but not to actually attempt to falsify reality.

I replied to the fucker, which means there's a good chance I'll soon be adding another notch to my forum ban belt. "Sharper than the arcade!" lol. WTF does that even mean?

There are new home version screens from Game Watch:

They're 720p, so I guess we can bet on cropped?

It seems to me the characters aren't all blurry anymore. What a relief.

Yet, the cropping...

My interest has been piqued, I'm going to SJSU's arcade today to play it. I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute a lot to the discussion, but I'll report on what I notice.

I ended up going to the Sunnyvale Golfland (Golfland USA), as they have a free-play on Saturdays from 9-12 for a six-dollar buy-in.

I gravitated towards Taokaka most, she's zippy and has a good reach. Rachel was another favorite of mine, with her aerial attacks.

After playing for an hour and a half, I left for SJSU's arcade. They didn't have Blazblue on the floor, and I neglected to confirm if they actually possess it, but they do have two SFIV cabs and Guilty Gear XXAC.

A note on SJSU: all cabs have the volume maxed out, my ears were pretty much dead on the ride home.

Compared to what? Playing while lying on a bed?

You went to a different arcade to confirm that "the game looks glorious, character movement felt very natural/appropriate and button layout was comfortable"?

Try to make sure your comments make sense, please. No need to reply -- we've already burdened this thread with two useless posts. Just keep this in mind for the future.

First update has been announced: Blazblue: Continuum Shift. We seem to have entered the era of updates for the latest round of fighters: first Tatsunoko, now this, next up SFIV and KOFXII I guess.

I finally have a copy of the game on the way (360 US version), and should be posting some impressions in a week or two, after my new 360 stick arrives as well.

I'd be glad to play some matches online with you if you've got Live. Well, that is if I still have it too. I think my subscription might have run out..

Unfortunately, I do not have internet access at "home" at all at the moment, because I live in a kind of hotel/apartment deal, and they won't allow me to make any modifications to it of any kind (I've asked). If I decide to move to more permament accomodations, and get internet access, I actually plan to start a sub-forum dedicated to online gaming, because there are all these co-op games I'd like to get to play with other people -- preferably people who haven't played these games at all before, so that they won't be able to spoil anything for me and will be just as surprised at what happens in them as I.

As far as fighing games go, however, I have long ago sworn off playing them online. Even the tiniest hint of lag completely kills the enjoyment for me.

The (rather bland-looking) stage Recap is linking at the end was exclusive from the console ports and will now be included in this update.

The PlayStation 3 version includes remote play that allows users to play the game on their PSP after connecting it to their console.

Whoever added that line was trying to say that the game supports the Remote Play feature:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_Play

Remote Play is a feature on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable which allows a PlayStation Portable user to interact with their PlayStation 3's Xross Media Bar. Users can access music, videos, photos, PlayStation games, the PlayStation Store and various applications stored on the PlayStation 3's HDD, or external flash drives and optical media attached to the PlayStation 3.

Remote Play works by encoding a live video stream of the output image on a PlayStation 3, then delivering it over a wireless network connection to a PlayStation Portable. Actions performed on the PSP such as the pressing of buttons are uploaded back to the PlayStation 3 over the same connection. This is similar in concept to the Slingbox. The audio may also be sent to and played by the PSP, or instead delivered through the normal PlayStation 3 audio connections, thus allowing the PSP to be used as a remote control for a PlayStation 3 acting as a media player. This is particularly useful if the PlayStation 3 is connected to a video projector, as it means one doesn't have to start the projector in order to play music.

By the way, I've now put a few hours into the game, but I am still clueless as to how the barrier system works. I thought I'd figure it out on my own, but no matter what I do the barrier gauge remains inactive. So if anyone could provide a little summary, or link some sort of guide on the game, I'd appreciate it.

PSP port: http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1229133_1407.html

The end result looks like the original game being resized with a bad resampling method.

The PC "port" has been, in a way, released sooner.

Apparently, Taito's Type X² has been hacked and, since the arcade board itself is a PC, people ripped Continuum Shift and packed it with a loader to play directly on any Windows XP-based system that resembles the Type X²'s specs.
