http://gamenyarth.blog67.fc2.com/blog-entry-9179.html

Game Nyarth 1.0 scoops up part of the interview with Kamitani (who's personally directing) in Famitsu:

http://gamenyarth.blog67.fc2.com/blog-entry-9179.html

It started as a project for DC and it took them a lot of work to find a publisher that would accept it, at last finding a patron in the American Ignition Entertainment, which will publish the game worldwide [Japan putting its best franchises in the hands of Western developers and at the same time turning down autochthonous works of this scale; so goes the world...]. Terrain's unevenness will affect the combat. Weapons will wear down. Online cooperative. Kamitani declares himself as an admirer of Golden Axe and King of Dragons, which he tries to pay homage to [he worked, in fact, on Tower of Doom during his Capcom phase -- may I add].

Why do they ignore the 360 being there an American company behind, goes beyond my wit, but I trust they won't force us to have a Vita in order to enjoy the game in its fullness. Enough that they make us buy a PS3 just for this already...

No hay ninguna confirmación de salida aún. Ya será raro que veamos esto antes del verano.

A few more details about Dragon’s Crown slipped out alongside the game’s July release date. Famitsu reminds readers that Dragon’s Crown is a hack and slash game with action, character growth, and collecting elements. Before you trek into a dungeon you can purchase provisions in town. The game has quests to take on and events scenes. In dungeons, players can earn experience points, money, and equipment.

Dragon’s Crown will be released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. You can transfer save data between the PS3 and Vita versions to continue the game on the go. Famitsu also re-confirms Dragon’s Crown will have online multiplayer (infrastructure mode) for up to four players.

If only they had decided to make a platformer instead (essentially, Magic Sword 2). Style-wise it looks great, genre-wise I don't think I could stand it for very long.

IGN recently went live with a new preview of Atlus and VanillaWare’s upcoming PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game Dragon’s Crown, providing new details on the August-due action RPG. Get the bullet summary below.

> The character-select screen is a round-table at a tavern featuring the game’s six characters feasting and drinking (pictured).

> After selecting your character, you’ll hear a voiced introduction, and then move out into a town “ripped out of the likes of Zelda II and Faxanadu.”

> You can speak with the townsfolk, or bother them—punch a basket of apples out of a merchant’s hands or jugs of water out of a person’s grasp, for example.

> The town also offers shops, guilds, etc. to visit.

> The world map will allow you to select which stage to visit or revisit.

> New players will be greeted with an “extremely thorough tutorial” for your character’s move and skill sets.

> Dragon’s Crown is “tough,” especially if you’re trying to best your high score or finish a stage faster for new loot. “Without using a hodgepodge of techniques and weapons, the AI will make quick work of you.”

> Enemies scale with you, meaning as you get stronger, they do, too. They’ll increase in number, as well.

> Each level ends with a powerful boss.

> Mounts can be found on various stages. If a giant bird attacks you, for example, you can down it and get on its back to use it as a temporary weapon. Some have special skills like fire breath.

> The left analog stick is used for character movement. The right analog stick is used to control an independent cursor to identify points of interest in the environment.

> Every character has a hooded companion following them with a sack full of treasure and loot. This is how characters are able to hold all the loot they obtain.

> Character stats include health points, magic points, strength, constitution, dexterity, intelligence, magical resistance, and luck. As you become more powerful and find better equipment, these numbers will increase.

Kagari wrote:Dragon's Crown North American cover art and pre-order artbook

The unveiling of the North American game cover for Dragon's Crown puts the vibrant, watercolor-esque art style of renowned game artist and Vanillaware president George Kamitani on full display. Brave adventurers who pre-order the 2D multiplayer hack-and-slash beat 'em up will also receive the Dragon's Crown Artworks: a limited edition soft-cover art book.

The Artworks will be 64 pages of full-color illustrations from Dragon's Crown. This includes intricate drawings of the characters in the game, lush environment backgrounds, and descriptions from the artist himself. Also included in the art book will be commissioned illustrations of the Dragon's Crown universe from three prominent Japanese video game artists: Akira Yasuda (Akiman), Kinu Nishimura, and Gouda Cheese (BENGUS).
