INJUSTICE 2 ANNOUNCED
BY WESLEY COPELAND
UPDATE: NetherRealm’s community specialist, Tyler Lansdown, has discussed how some of the game’s customisation options will work.
Writing via the PS Blog, Lansdown says players will be able to customise fighters with a new Gear System, which rewards the player with loot every time they play. Each loot reward has a chance to drop character-specific gear that can then be used to outfit and power up different characters. It changes not “only the look of each character, but your fight strategy and your personal approach to every match.”
Think of it kind of like how RPG games utilise loot drops.
Original story follows…
Surprise! After yesterday's leak, Injustice 2 has been announced.
Details are scarce at the moment, but we do know the story will once again see Batman and co. working towards restoring order, and attempting to stop those who would attempt to restore the oppressive Superman regime. While the supes are all busy dealing with another, a new threat presents itself. One that could end Earth as we know it (please be Brainiac, please be Brainiac).
Confirmed characters so far include Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, as well as newcomers Red Lantern Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Likewise, on the location front, Metropolis, Gotham City, and Atlantis have also been confirmed as battle arenas.
If you’d like to have a looksee at Superman and Aquaman’s new attires in action, and own the Injustice game for iOS or Android, their outfits can be unlocked via the mobile version’s challenge modes.
No release date has been mentioned, but you can expect Injustice 2 at some point in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
We first heard about Injustice 2 way back in April 2014. More recently, GameStop outed the superhero fighting game by accidentally leaking artwork, which resulted in creative director Ed Boon trolling GameStop and the fans for the last few days.
