So I have this idea for a small boathouse:

A small channel through the building with an entrance and exit on either side would allow for much easier storage and exit of a small speedboat. I'm not sure about the larger boat, I don't think I've even seen it yet.

There's an airlock at the front, with a set of descending stairs, but it really depends on the topography of the building location. The set of stairs might not be needed.

This does not include the resources needed to add doors and furniture. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the program yet, and for some reason it thinks I've used 46 code locks somehow and would include those resources in the summary. I'll update this post once I've figured out how to remove them.

So we've made this, pretty much as depicted above, just with an extra square of length, plus walkway leading up to it from the beach. The stairs room isn't needed because of beach slope. Could be needed in a future build at a different beach.

Also I want it in full sheet metal because it just looks way cooler. There's something about the water that makes me dislike putting stone in it. I guess sheet metal gives it more of this Mad Max/Waterworld feel for me.

Kraken skin for doors and large boxes, military skin for the temporary double doors, pirate skin for sleeping bags, and berry skin for small box under mixing table.

Build still doesn't have garage doors. Will bump thread when that's done. Might not happen in this wipe because garage doors are T2 or T3, and we're nowhere near that.

There's still space in the boathouse for a bench or something. Maybe an extra repair bench. Or maybe when we get workbench tier 2, we can move the tier 1 here for backup. We'll see, let's keep the space free for now
The main thing is to put a boat in there and make sure the design works


Can you go back to Fortify Chev and update the design when you have the time? Put in the walkway and all the objects too, as close as possible to how we've put them (including garage doors).


Note: For an easier time, all the boxes should be put on the shelves before the mixing table is placed.

Updated the boathouse design in Fortify. The entire structure is made of sheet metal, and the doors open inward.

Managed to fix some stuff I didn't know when I made the preliminary design too, like the weak side of the walls being on the correct side. While using the program you're supposed to build from the outside in, unlike how it works in the game. The weak side is denoted by a thicker grey border around the rim of each wall panel. This is important if you want to use the in-built "raid mode" to see how well the structure stands up to an assault.

Another thing to note is that there should be an extra 5 code locks (costing an extra 500 metal fragments), but I can't figure out how to add them to the TC and boxes.

That's fantastic work. Maybe you can do the other modular base pieces too since you've already figured out Fortify so well. The reason I haven't been posting my own designs is because I've done half a dozen, whereas you and Robo have only done one each. I plan to post them before the next wipe anyway. I can post the pics and the explanations, and maybe you can model them?

The one design that's currently only partly-done is the main tower that you saw in our last game. I will post what I have and we can take it from there.

I am very much looking forward to playing another full wipe this month. Maybe this Thursday, or if not the one after for sure.
