On NeoGAF meanwhile they are saying that the "leak" was damage control to appease fans after the Diablo Immoral announcement: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/kotaku-b ... e.1467657/

Either way, D4 is a certainty, so who cares. I am just making the thread so we have a thread when the inevitable announcement comes.

Diablo 4 launch date and game size revealed by new leak

Anil Ganti wrote:According to a well-renowned data miner, Diablo 4 will supposedly be playable on June 5, 2023. Its size on Xbox will be 80 GB, and it will be available in three versions- Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition.

Previous reports said April, so this is consistent with the usual delays in game dev.

I am definitely playing this Day 1 and already have the Online thread for it: https://culture.vg/forum/topic?t=7707

The question is whether to play Hardcore or not. My previous attempt to play a diablolike in Hardcore with Path of Exile weren't promising: the genre is just too boring to be played without continues like an arcade game. Too much padding and mindless clicking to be fun playing the same levels over and over. There ARE intense moments, but they're bookended by ages of grinding, so unless the genre fixes this, one-and-done with saves might be the superior way to play these games. So I'll take one more stab at Hardcore with D4, and if it doesn't work out we're switching to saves and just getting through the game like a normal campaign.

It MIGHT be 8-player by the way, but it might also be 6- or 4-, so if you're interested in reserving a spot in my team, post in the Online thread on a first-come first-served basis. If it ends up being 4 players, the first 3 will qualify etc.

The stream is only an hour even though we played more like two hours, because for the first hour two of our players were having connection problems. In the last hour we resolved them, so this video shows a full 4P team.

I am not going to post impressions because I already posted a full review above.

We all lose faith sometimes, but it's really refreshing seeing these kind of additions happening after they were promised and shown in the past.

I got Diablo 4 to play with a friend who was big into the series, and it really puts SC into perspective. There's a game that took 10 years to make, from a studio and publisher with basically unlimited staff and resources, and it's a heap of shit. I can't think of a single mobile ARPG that launched as barebones as Diablo 4. I don't hear a single person who cried about them having over $660 million in sales in the first week alone, with an overpriced cash shop that would make an SC whale think twice.

The only thing I can really fault SC for is having an absolute shit perspective when they set out timelines for when we should expect things, and that's why they stopped doing it.

If SC production started 10 years ago, with $500 million in funding from a publisher, and we only found out about it 2 years ago, no one would make a single complaint about the current state of the game.
