Satisfactory + They Are Billions. It's especially welcome because Satisfactory's combat aspect is very limited, and the devs don't plan to expand it. They have said they want a peaceful game lol. So we're left with the modders there. But here the combat seems really hectic, so that's good. On the other hand, the factory pieces seem very basic and nowhere near as cool and numerous as Satisfactory's. It's so frustrating when each game seems only able to provide 50% of the experience... But at least the genre is expanding and people are noticing the various games' faults, so eventually we're bound to get one game that fully delivers. Until then... we can play Satisfactory for the building and this for the action. And who knows, maybe they'll improve the building here, though I am not hopeful since they don't even seem able to get basic things about the setting right, as I just mentioned in their forum in a thread that'll probably get me banned: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1402820/ ... 9571963065

Go to the official site for a beta signup.

Also, there is a singleplayer "prologue" coming March 15.

In general I am not super-excited because many things about this project seem half-assed. The official site for example, or even the game's logo. But maybe it's just a small team, and if they get some sales they'll grow it. In things that matter, production values are nicely high, and the action looks very hectic and nicely complex. So it's worth keeping an eye on the project.

Also... the physics system at the core of the game IS genuinely impressive, and if the base-building and enemy designs fully support it, it COULD lead to some crazy action and tactics, and logistics. Check the videos below. It's a new level of gaming in the genre for sure. Even Factorio didn't send thousands of enemies at you, and the effect of physics on Satisfactory is minimal compared to this.

4-player co-op according to devs. People are asking for more in the forum.

4 isn't too bad. We can have two teams if there's enough interest. But it would of course be better if the teams were larger, assuming enemies would scale accordingly.

I wrote:If you compare the building assets here with those in a proper automation game like Factorio or Satisfactory you'll see why programmer games are so inferior. You need real designers and real artists in the team to create assets that look cool and real, as opposed to the autistic copy-paste stuff that a programmer can come up with. No base design shown yet in this game is appealing in the least. They don't feel like real bases that serve a function as in other, proper games. They feel like a Tetris player designed them. I can't get excited for this game at all, and I love this genre.

Will probably get deleted, but I had to scream in the void.
