Yeah, this is the new games criticism style we will soon be launching. It mixes various games and games reviews in a postmodern hyper-realist framework.

Whenever I reply to a topic, if I try to type anything after the thirteenth line, the box I am typing in will automatically scroll up, making it nearly impossible for me to see what I am typing.

Is there a way to fix this?

Sorry for my bad phrasing.

It happens to me too in some browsers on some computers. But in others it doesn't. I've no idea how to fix it, but it looks like it's a browser problem.

Also you are banned for apologizing in advance for something you didn't do so as to cover your ass just in case you happened to do it. What a fucking ridiculous tactic this is.

A small suggestion: if it's possible, there should also be an index link/sub-forum link at the top of the page instead of just at the bottom.

I can do it with a couple of clicks. While the forum was in development I actually used that for a while. But when I added the header, the area immediately below it became too crowded with links, and adding the pathway that you are asking now would make the overall look of the forum really ugly. I just tried it again for a few seconds after reading your post, and I hated it.

So if I can think of a way (and find the time) to squeeze it unobtrusively in there somewhere at some point, I'll do it. It's certainly on the to-do list. But the to-do list is currently several pages, and this particular change is not a priority.

I can only successfully login on the front page. If I use the login link on the forums, I get a "You have specified an incorrect password" error.

Try resetting your password on the frontpage and let me know what happens.

Nothing changed until I took the ampersand out of my password. I tried a few other passwords with and without ampersands and that seems to be the cause.

A note about the recent disruption of service in the forum. I'm being a lot more careful about site maintenance and security after what happened with the previous version of the site, so apart from daily automated site-wide backups (that are stored on two separate cloud-storage services, lol), I am also making manual backups once a month. When this happens you can expect the forum to go offline from anything like a few hours to a day or two, depending on my schedule and how I stagger the various backup tasks. So it's nothing to worry about, is what I am saying; quite the opposite in fact.

I fixed a little hitch with the forum where banned users could not see and download attachments. If anyone is still experiencing difficulties in this area, email me (obviously, since you can't post).

I've added the following users as moderators in the News forum: Qpo, Amor fati, Some guy, El Chaos, shubn, movie, The Hanged Man, ksevcov, and chevvy.

You guys are some of the most frequent visitors to the forum, and most of you have also been around a long time, so I believe that I can trust you. All I am asking you to do is delete any obvious troll posts from the News forum that you see: vulgar attacks against the site, attempts to discuss icy's theory articles, links to illegal sites, and so on. Between us, we should be able to ensure that no such post manages to stay online for more than an hour or so, and most of them should be caught within minutes.

I am not asking you to edit posts, move or merge threads, ban users or IP addresses, or any of that stuff. The only button I want you to use is the "Delete" button (represented by an "X") located on the top-right corner of any offending posts you see.

Any questions, let me know here. Just note that no one will hold you responsible if anything bad goes down. I am the only one responsible here; all I want from you is a few extra pairs of eyes and hands to help remove and prevent the very worst cases of what could go wrong here.

Please post here when you read this message, to make sure that all of you have read it. I wouldn't want any of you to miss this and not even realize you have that extra button now. If you want to be removed from this job, let me know and I will do that and find someone to replace you with.

icy, reported topics and the threads that contain them look bad with the Aeon style.

Nothing I can do about it. But there's no reason for anyone to ever use the report function, since I read every post in the forum. Reporting is meant for huge forums where the moderators can't read everything. I'll try looking into some way to disable it altogether.
