Man, that sounds fucked up. Not sure what I could do about it. Was it a one-off or does it crash your browser every time you click on a link?

On a side note, both my browsers have been crashing every ten minutes for the last few days, but that happens even when I am visiting other sites.

Fucking internet.

Still acts jerky. Happens when I hover mouse over the links in the right side nav menu. I'm using Firefox 2 by the way (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11).

Still don't know what it was exactly, but I think I fixed it.

Yeah it would crash when I tried to visit the forum. But I'm here so it must've stopped.

So I finally got round to cleaning up the forum (2000+ spambots deleted), so as far as I know all currently registered users are real human beings. I also added a mod which should prevent spambots from registering in the future. It's basically a question that asks "Is Insomnia the best game website in the world?" lol

We'll see how well that works out.

Took me much less than I thought it would: only about three hours. Should have done it sooner.

Good work. That mod does wonders from my experience.

I'm getting this (or similar messages) like 9 times out of 10 when I try to access the forum. What's up? :?

Something to do with the hosting company. Seems to have been fixed...

icy, ask them to turn off MySQL error messages output. In a public commercial server these messages should be directed to log files only accessible to the developer. It is dangerous to present information about the site's database and codebase structure.

I am in the middle of adding a new section to the site, as well as making changes to the look, so expect a lot of weird things happening for the next few days. Hopefully, I won't end up deleting it by accident.

I finally decided that it's dumb to have one subforum for "discussion" and another for "feedback", so I am going to merge them. Things will look funny for the next few minutes or so.

I keep getting logged out. In fact, every time I load a new page I'm logged out. A little help?

No. 24, do you have cookies enabled in your web browser? If not, that could be causing the problem.

I changed it to the lowest possible privacy setting, but I'm still having the problem.

Getting some text like that at the top and bottom of a lot of the pages now. Seems to be on The Imperishable Night dedicated cab! and older ones. The links there (Home, Contact, Links, etc.) are missing, and the header images appear on top of the warning messages.

Yeah, this is now a problem with all the older pages, and there is no other way for it to be fixed than by editing the HTML for every single one of them. Amateurish coding, you see. So I'll do the most important pages sometime this weekend, and the rest at some point in the future.

Hi, thanks for an interesting site.

Any possibility of RSS feeds being added to the site in the future? I'd really like to get automatic updates whenever something new is posted on the frontpage, and I suspect I'm not alone in this.

This is not really a technical "issue", rather a technical request. I looked around and felt this thread was most appropriate to post in. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Didn't look hard enough: http://forum.insomnia.ac/viewtopic.php?t=200

It's also linked off the frontpage, just below the "News" section on the sidebar. Glad you are enjoying the site.

Error when posting new topics in Casual

Unread postby prankenstein » 20 Oct 2009 22:42

I get this error message when I try to post a new topic in Casual:

"Sorry, but only administrators can post new topics in this forum"

I can post everywhere else -- I tried.

I've had it with this guy. He just keeps creating work for me, and he shows absolutely no sign of grasping the fact that I HAVE NO TIME TO DEAL WITH HIM. I WOULD RATHER BE PLAYING GAMES INSTEAD.

So be it then.
