The Fall of Japanese Gaming

I think this cover captures vividly the fall of Japanese gaming. I've played Rockman EXE. It's garbage. I played the original Mega Man Battle Network on GBA back in 2001-2002 I think it was. I couldn't stomach it for more than an hour. It's a 2/5 if I am feeling kind. EGM gave it 6/10, which is basically my 2/5. And the latest Famitsu has nothing better to push on their readers on their cover than a collection of garbage games from a quarter of a century ago.

Now you might say it's a weekly magazine, so they still have three covers for the month, but even then, there are certainly four better games to highlight on your cover in April 2023 than fucking Rockman EXE! And the fact they're making such a fuss about the "anniversary" or whatever shows they have shit for taste!

There's no coming back from this, it's terminal. Whites are lapping the Japs now even in belt-scrollers (with Streets of Rage 4), metroidvanias (the Hollow Knight games), and perhaps to an extent even shooters soon (with the upcoming CYGNI [ > ]). What genres do the Japs have left to dominate? The rolling-on-the-floor (ROFL) genre?

They will be beaten in that too, soon. Mark my words on this. Tons of studios are trying to beat them at it, and one of them will do it. And they will do it by making a true open-world ROFL game, not the barren wastelands that count for open worlds in Japan. And then there's no coming back from that defeat, since Asians can't make open worlds (they've been failing for a quarter of a century now to make one, to the point where we had to make even a samurai open-world game for them).

Bottom-line: If you have low T and/or low IQ, JRPGs are the plagiarized and then debased form of White people's RPGs that have been custom-made for you. White people's RPGs are getting more and more complex every year (with my game being the ultimate): they are WAY more complex now than in 2007 when I published my essay on CRPGs. Meanwhile JRPGs are getting even dumber if anything: https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/636760606

I don't get it. What's the appeal? Every single one I tried had repetitive combat with little to none strategy involved. And most of the time I just tried to leave the area as fast as possible so I don't get another time wasting random encounter.

In response, someone posted a screenshot of (part of) my old CRPG essay: https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/636760606/#636779915

Icycalm's arguments are well constructed and clearly articulated. What do most weebtards here say in defence of JRPG?
>m-muh comfy and relaxing and wholesome and cute and funny
They become awfully evasive and quiet when the subject of gameplay is brought up. Suddenly, gameplay doesn't matter.

Why the fuck can't Nipponoid developers into strategy genre? All the best strategy games are from the West.

There are Koei's strategy games, and they're good, or at least used to be before Civ/4X came out (4X and grand strategy are the same thing). After that, they failed to keep up, so they're still 2Xish games, therefore low-complexity and boring nowadays.

Yeah, subhuman thread

See, even people who hate me contribute to spreading my fame, by checking people who plagiarize me. With such enemies, who needs friends.

The absolute state of japanese gaming:

And this is why they lost the war. Because they're children.

They're going the exact opposite way from us; as we're going deeper and more mature they're going simpler and more childish because that's what you do when you are stunted.
