One final purchase for the holidays. I saw Effay buy it on Steam, and sure enough it was 25% cheaper on Epic with the coupon. I used to prefer buying everything on Steam due to the public profiles, but now with Exophase that's not such an issue for me and I'll just take the discounts wherever I can get them. Plus... it helps foster competition.

The only thing that worries me nowadays with all these stores is that some of them might go bankrupt, and then you lose your games I suppose? So the chances of Epic going bankrupt are worse than Steam. That said, with this mindset you're just contributing to market monopoly, so I try not to think about it.

Turns out I already had it on Origin lol, so I refunded it. And btw, Origin is now "EA App". My games are still there. Have about two dozen of them.

Bought some more stuff. Scooped up some cheap odds and ends on Steam, and finished my David Cage collection on Epic.

I now have all David Cage games: Omikron and Fahrenheit on Steam, and the three newer ones on Epic. I am interested in trying out all of them to look into how far he has gone in the "cinematic game" genre which is the only genre that can conceivably challenge Star Citizen for Game of the 2020s, and my game for Game of the 2030s (more details soon). Connected to this, I also need to check out Supermassive's games starting with Until Dawn (though that's only on the PS4 and can't be emulated). I do have Man of Medan which is the next one after that, on Steam. And then I also have Deadly Premonition on Steam, which is supposed to be kind of the same sort of thing, from Japan/SWERY. I don't have his next game, D4 on Steam, but I plan to get it on sale. A little confused about all the DLC for that one. And as I understand, it was never completed?

I think that's pretty much the entire history of the modern "cinematic game". Maybe we can add a couple titles from Remedy in there, as borderline titles at any rate. They tend to be too heavy on the action side to qualify for real "cinematic" status, though by action-game standards they're extremely cinematic, starting with the original Max Payne of course.

You can snag all three of the new Hitman games for $20.99, if you buy Hitman 3 on Steam within the next 23 hours: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1659040/HITMAN_3

But they only unlock on the 26th. More details here: https://www.pcgamer.com/buy-hitman-3-fo ... s-for-free

Morgan Park wrote:...come January 26, Hitman 3 will become Hitman: World of Assassination, and every non-DLC level from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 will unlock for free.

It is truly the best time to buy Hitman 3. Not only is 20 bucks a great price for a fantastic game, but in a few weeks, all existing Hitman 3 owners will also inherit every base level from Hitman 1 and 2, making this a de facto sale for the entire trilogy (minus DLC levels).

A sweet deal, but time is of the essence—Hitman 3's sale price is only live for another two days, and it's probably the cheapest it's going to be for a long time. As part of the title change/bundling process, IO is also raising the total price of Hitman 3 to $70. That's still a fair price considering how much game is in there, but you know what's better than $70? $20.99. The only catch with buying Hitman 3 right now is that your Hitman 1 and 2 levels won't unlock until the World of Assassination transition later this month.

The DLCs for all three games can be had here for about $20: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2 ... Ons_Bundle

Image

But that still leaves out the "Seven Deadly Sins" missions for 3, which can be had here for about $10: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2 ... Collection

Image

So about $50 for all three games and extra content. Awesome deal really. Still, I didn't get it because I have yet to even play the original Hitman: Codename 47 from 2000. By the time I've played that, this deal should be available again. Would also be nice to have a next-gen high-res VR headset with which to play all of them.

What I got instead, because of seeing schaden buy its DLCs, is Arcana Heart 3 LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!! XTEND with all DLCs for a mere €6,81: https://store.steampowered.com/app/6619 ... TARS_XTEND

Image

Even if you have the game, you should jump on the discounted DLCs if you don't have them, they're only €2.

The Hitman sale/upgrade saga isn't over, unfortunately: https://steamcommunity.com/id/newgenera ... ed/1659040

bOSs wrote:Read before you buy anything before January 26th 2023:

  • If you want the "complete" original HITMAN 1 experience, buy HITMAN 1 GOTY;
  • If you want the "complete" original HITMAN 2 experience, buy HITMAN 2 Gold;
  • If you want the "complete" HITMAN 3 experience + DLCs + access to previous chapters content, buy HITMAN 3 Deluxe + HITMAN 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection + HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion.

WHY?

After the aforementioned date, all HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2 content will be removed from digital stores, but not from your library if you already own them. The triple HITMAN 3 pack above will give access to the new HITMAN World Of Assassination Deluxe entry with a "discounted" price, as it will cost *only* $100 in the future. You'll also not need to achieve a PhD degree and 20 years of field experience to know what package/DLC/expansion/whatever butchered content you need to buy to access the "complete" game.

ATTENTION TO THE "COMPLETE" CONTENT PART: HITMAN WoA will still miss pre-order bonus/skins, platform exclusive packages and various missions/feels from the originals HITMAN 1 & 2, so if you want a more "complete incomplete" experience, you'll need to buy them as mentioned at the top of this post (and before they shut down the servers for these games - because yes, this complete convoluted mess is not accomplished if we don't lock some content behind an always-online gate).

More info about the changes and what's the best course if you already own any HITMAN content can be found on this Steam community topic (click me).

I already own 1 and 2, so if I had read this earlier, I would have bought all the DLCs for these two, before the sale ended. Now I'd have to buy them full-price, and it's not worth it.

Giant stupid bummer.

Oh well. Maybe they'll add the bells and whistles later to the newest edition. It wouldn't make much sense not to.

Samurai Shodown is deeply discounted on Steam because they’re putting in rollback netcode right now. You can get the game and all 12 extra characters for about $20. There are two even cheaper packages but they don’t have all the characters.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1342 ... AI_SHODOWN

I already have the game and most characters on Epic, so I am reluctant to repurchase it. And since the Steam version has Remote Play Together, I can just use that to play rollback with our clan (since there’s no crossplay between Steam and Epic), while playing arcade mode on my own on Epic. But if you don’t have the game at all, now would be a good opportunity to buy it on Steam.

Then again, some of us already have it on Steam and you can play with them via Remote Play Together. Not sure though how many players are allowed to connect that way.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus for €3,99: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1090 ... asy_Versus

€29,99 for the Legendary Edition that gives all stages and characters: https://store.steampowered.com/sub/662114

I already have everything and I think I paid close to €100 for it lol. Worth it tho.

Lots of other FTGs discounted too, but this is the craziest discount I've seen.

shubn just bought it and I had it from a Humble pack I think. We will be playing it as a minigame for Battlegrounds and our streams will be going on the overworld along with our old Colonial Marines stream. I'll be explaining soon how this will work in the Alien Season 1 thread I am making, but I wanted to give this heads-up for people to grab the game at a discount, if they want. It's not mandatory to play this, we just need one stream, but apparently it is a good game, so you might want to play it regardless. Same goes for Alien: Isolation btw.

There is also an "Ultimate Edition" bundle, but it's mostly just skins: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/3 ... te_Edition

The one item it includes that isn't skins is the Pathogen Expansion that has 3 new missions, but it hasn't been reviewed well. It's 50% off at only €7,49 though, so I bought it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1942 ... _Expansion

There's also the "Into the Hive Edition" that includes just the game and the expansion for €15,99: https://store.steampowered.com/sub/751668
