My Pathfinder Steam DLC gift list

Unread postby icycalm » 23 Dec 2021 16:31

So I’ve been spending on Pathfinder and VTT material recently like crazy, at least 1,500 euros in the past few weeks, and I will keep spending more as the need arises, and as I discover ways to enrich our experience. And beyond one-off purchases, the various subscription costs I am running keep rising. Just a few days ago I renewed our World Anvil sub for 150, and signed up for Hero Forge Pro for 20/month. I am also paying people on Fiverr to edit videos, loop music, do image-editing that One Kick can’t do etc.

All I am saying is I am spending far more than anyone else, and that’s before counting my time, the price of which is inestimable. So if people think I am getting rich off a few people sending me $25 extra per month on Patreon, I assure you that’s not what’s happening. The reality is that I am getting poorer because of Battlegrounds, and there are no signs of this changing in the future.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am not complaining by any means, I am just trying to guilt-trip you into buying me some Pathfinder DLC on Steam so I don’t have to completely drain my bank account for it (which I will if necessary). Now if you are strapped for cash and barely paying the extra $25 I ask on Patreon to play in this game, disregard this thread and never look into it again. But if you love the game and appreciate its potential and can afford and want to throw more money at it, here are the DLCs I don’t have and would like to have in the near future. When you buy something, bump this thread after so I can update the list.

Btw I don’t know if it’s actually possible to gift Fantasy Grounds DLC on Steam, I am just assuming that it is. If you have trouble doing it, let me know and we’ll find another way to get it done. This is just the most convenient way, so I am hoping it works.

I could also use chapters 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Ruins of Azlant campaign. It’s the only one we’re currently playing which I don’t completely own yet, and it’s currently discounted at 25%. If you’re playing in that campaign though don’t bother buying these for me as I wouldn’t want you to spoil the titles for yourselves.

I declined the three duplicates trev, so Steam should return your money. Maybe you could buy me a couple of chapters of Ruins of Azlant instead?

Thanks a lot guys. It will make a difference for sure.

Sure, did you just want the chapters you mentioned before: 3, 4, 5, and 6?

Got everything, much appreciated!

There’s nothing more I need for now. They convert a couple books a month, so in a few months I’ll bump the thread so maybe some other people can contribute.

The next big purchase I will personally make is when they release a bundle of the PF1 adventures. I’ve been holding off on them because in these bundles you can save up to 50% when combined with a holiday discount. Once that bundle hits (and the FG CEO has told me in his forum that it will come out), I will buy it and have absolutely everything on Steam for PF1.

Keep in mind though that there is a lot more PF1 on Paizo’s site than what’s currently on Steam, maybe 2x-3x more, and as I said they convert a couple books a month. So it will take a while to get everything.

What I want to do in the meantime is convince people that we NEED everything and that I am not just hoarding this stuff because I am greedy (though I am also, of course, greedy). The first step in doing this is to show you the overworld. No one is prepared for it, trust me. If you like the game already you’ll lose your shit when you see what these thousands of dollars of books look like when displayed in overworld format. And then I’ll post a couple of essays further explaining my approach and how RPGs function. And I think at that point everyone will be convinced, even people who don’t play RPGs.

Same to you, and thanks a lot!

Btw, Paizo is releasing a PF2 version of Kingmaker this spring in hardcover with added material. I plan to convert the new material to PF1 and include it in our campaign. So it's a good thing we ended up delaying it.

And I just noticed the hexes in this image, a subtle nod to the campaign's hexploration aspect.
