Screenshots on SEGAbits: http://www.segabits.com/?p=11444

The official site announces a movie for tomorrow, which I think will be a high-definition version of the one in the SEGAbits post. That vid's footage looks considerably more fun than Phantasy Star Universe.

Ishaan wrote:Sega have revealed further information on the PlayStation Vita version of Phantasy Star Online 2, which is slated for release in February 2013 in Japan. In a recent Japanese interview (summarized by the Phantasy Star Fan Blog), the game’s producer, Satoshi Sakai, reveals the following bits of information:

  • The Vita version will have fewer enemies on the screen at once.
  • Fewer Emergency Trials compared to the PC version.
  • Map sizes will be smaller on Vita to accommodate the portable format.
  • For this same reason, it will also take less time to encounter enemies.
  • These changes will also be in effect for PC players joining the Vita block.

All of the above changes were made in order to get the game running efficiently on the Vita, according to Sakai. Phantasy Star Online 2 will be released for the PlayStation Vita on February 28th, 2013. Prior to its release, Sega will hold a beta-test for the game. The beta will allow for 50,000 participants.

A version of the game with English language support will be released soon for Southeast Asia:

Ishaan Sahdev wrote:Somehow this slipped under our radar entirely, even though it’s from a couple of months ago: Asiasoft will publish Phantasy Star Online 2 in South East Asia—in English.

The territories Asiasoft will cover include: Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. They’ll be publishing the PC version of the game.

“Asiasoft has an excellent track record in publishing online games in Southeast Asian countries and this partnership is in line with Sega’s aspiration to expand our PC online game portfolio,” said Naoya Tsurumi, president and COO of Sega Corporation.

“Sega and Asiasoft will be working closely together to provide the best PSO2 experience for users in Thailand, Singapore Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines by creating localized contents that will appeal to the market in said countries.”

Phantasy Star Online 2 will reach the aforementioned territories in 2014. Sega announced the game for release in North America and Europe earlier this year, but have since been quiet on the subject of its release.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Sega announced.

The free-to-play online RPG first launched for PC in Japan in 2012, following a PS Vita release in 2013.

The PlayStation 4 version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will begin service in Japan in 2016.

If you’re at the Tokyo Game Show in September, Phantasy Star Online 2 will be playable on PlayStation 4.

Sega also confirmed the latest expansion to the title, “Reborn: Episode 4,” will be released in 2016, complete with a new logo.

Thanks, Games Talk.
