So I've played about half of this game using the PSVR, and it's a rhythm game very much like Neon Drive. For the most part the game confines you to a single lane and you have to lean into turns, smash obstacles and make the occasional jump in order to survive, though there's some extra stuff you can do to increase your score. So far each level has been adding a new element into the mix of challenges; like sections which have extra lanes or ones that kill you if you miss a beat.
The visuals and effects are utterly jaw dropping, like goddamn. I'd say even the videos don't do it justice with what the game is like in VR. The way some of the effects unfurl themselves in the distance like a sort of evil mandelbrot is especially stunning.
The only issues I've noticed so far is that every level looks (and sounds) basically the same. You're always travelling through that dark void, and some of the track effects like the tentacles repeat themselves in every level. It's at the point where I can't tell what level any of the screenshots came from. Also, the final boss of every level looks like crap. I've no idea what they were thinking with that thing, it looks like the entrance of a carnival ride and clashes with the surreal malevolent aesthetic. I have little hope that it'll change in later levels.
