NeoGAF told me that this is 2019 GOTY, so I duly headed over to YouTube to catch a trailer and see what's up.

In a 6 month window, VR has:

Asgard's Wrath(GoTY for me)
Half Life Alyx
Iron Man
Stormland
The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners

That's more VR AAA games that its entire history, combined. And 2020 looks very bright, another Valve game, Metal of Honor, Lone Echo 2 etc.

That's not counting all the VR ports and AA games in between like Boneworks. AA games were always VR's bread and butter imo, but for the first time AAA are coming on strong.

And of course what I saw was crap character designs, crappier enemies, complete lack of an attractive setting or story, zero interesting mechanics, and complete lack of an artistic vision in any aspect of the game. A programmer game in other words. The developers seem like grifters conning millions out of Facebook to churn generic crap because no one at FB knows anything about games. Another swinging game... Innovation! Is this the Nintendo Wii in 2006, or is it VR?

2/5, if I am feeling generous. And I wouldn't even try the game unless I was paid to. There are a handful of interesting VR games, but this isn't one of them by any stretch of the imagination.

I find the "hardcore VR fans" to have shitty tastes in games. And I mean they have to if they are stupid enough to believe that running around the streets blind with a laptop in your backpack is "teh future of gaming" lol. Case in point, from the same thread:

VR is indeed the future of gaming, but not if you are a dog. If you are a dog you get put on a treadmill with a headset so your owner can take funny pics to post on social media. Woof woof! Capish? "Omnidirectional treadmills" are the modern version of the Wii Fit board, and for the same retarded audience that doesn't realize it has a body, and therefore has no idea how to use it. But I've already explained all of this.
