But they made a generic boring Ubisoft style game with some ideas from the fear games with a Tokyo skin.

Honestly I just bought this because it was in Tokyo and not many games have this environment.

Combat is awful and not really engaging, chose your projectile color or wait for the ennemy to watch a wall like a dumb for a sneak kill. There is no strategy at all, back up and shoot your same magic until the ennemy is dead, that's it.

The "skill tree" is insulting and doesn't change your gameplay, it is there to unlock quality of life features that should have been available from the start with a true skill tree in place of this trash.
They makes you very slow on everything on purpose and add skills to go faster (it just make you at the base speed of other games...)

I won't comment on story I didn't finish it yet but for now I can't see how it will be good as the beginning makes me sleep and it's super slow for nothing interesting.

Exploration is boring. The usual unlock tower to see icon then go to icon for boring quest / collectable. So you don't really explore anything and this is not very rewarding or enjoyable. And the emptiness of the town makes that even worst.

Kinda disappointed. This not actually bad or buggy but this is not good either. Very boring.

This is a filler game, you can play that if you have nothing else to play but don't expect a lot.

TLDR : maybe it's enough for a casual gamer but if you search more than the usual Ubisoft game you already played multiple time in the past then don't buy this game.

Will update if my experience change but not very promising for now.

Update: No it didn't change. Play something else if you can. I will finish it because I can't refound it and I have nothing else for now.

Unfortunately, the game falls short when it comes to the action. The animations are cool and all but you are just a slow moving turret spamming spells at slow moving enemies, with the occasional need to time a shield/block.

I wish the combat was more dynamic, heck your character doesn't even have a dash input. Enemies don't really feel threatening despite their fantastic designs, because the combat is so predictable and stale. Also there are a bunch of ubisoft-tier collectible bs at the side if you're into that.

Last but not least, the story/writing, to put it nicely, is not really to my taste. For the amount of serious design work they put in to craft this immersive experience, the dialogue has random moments of forced lightheartedness (think mcu movies).

I'm not a dev so i don't know what's within the realm of possibility, but a possible change that would improve the game drastically would be to speed both the players and the enemies up by 2x.
