Yeah it's crazy he has no Hercules's in there. It's probably my favorite ship in the game.
Btw if you read a bit down the comments you'll see people networking to build bigger orgs to man capital ships etc. It's super-exciting but also more than a little... scary, since you'll be facing them in the game lol.

People just naturally want to be part of something big and organized, and these dudes look super-organized, so people are responding in the comments, and he didn't even ask for recruits, he just shared his friends' fleet.
