If you're a Subscriber or Concierge, you should have access to it. To install it, you can follow these instructions: https://support.robertsspaceindustries. ... 0000668488

  1. Visit the RSI website and click Account in the upper right, login with your email or Login ID and password. Click Settings to open your account.

    Image
  2. Click the Public Test Universe tab (If this is grayed out, you do not currently have access to the PTU or it is not live).
  3. Click Copy your account to the PTU. Following this step, you should receive an email.
Be patient: It can take some time for the email to arrive. It will arrive from no-reply@robertsspaceindustries.com with the subject "RSI Test Account Copied to Public Test Universe". If the servers are handling a high number of requests this email may be delayed in arrival.

  4. Once this email is received, you are ready to access the PTU. You will need to re-copy your account periodically, whenever a new PTU cycle occurs or changes require accounts to be reset on the PTU.

  5. Log in to the RSI Launcher using your email address/Login ID and the password you use on robertsspaceindustries.com.
  6. Click on the drop-down button on the top left under the Star Citizen logo that says LIVE, and change this to PTU.

  7. Click Install to download, and once done, Launch Game!

For points 6 and 7, what you can do instead, if you don't want to download the whole thing, is:

  • Go to the game's install folder, make a copy of your "LIVE" folder and rename that copy to "PTU".
  • Open the launcher, select PTU, go to settings, click "verify". It will only download the difference between the LIVE (currently 3.18.2) and PTU versions (currently 3.19.0).

If you can't spare the space for two installs, you can also just rename "LIVE" to "PTU" and verify the files. If you do it this way, you'll have to rename the folder and verify the files every time you want to switch between LIVE and PTU.
