Released on June 20th to an extremely cold response at 13,800 yen for the unit + a Logitech branded controller, it's already being discounted and undoubtedly headed to the graveyard. Konami has backed the unit in a strange way by offering emulated PC Engine games from their and Hudson Soft's back catalog as well as a port of the Rocket Knight reboot. UBI is also supporting with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and some legacy titles from 2-3 years ago. Falcom has some very old Ys titles up as well but the pricing is stupidly high.

Here's a short list of the many things they've done wrong
- Requires constant 3mb downstream (Japanese ISPs throttle so many customers can't play at a satisfactory quality level)
- No ethernet port (have to buy an accessory for $35 directly from the manufacturer, not available in any stores)
- Can't buy games for your account, you can only rent at a year at a time!
- Like OnLive, has a monthly playpack that's $5 a month but only contains Big Fish and Konami owned emulated PC Engine games
- Standalone games like Ys cost about $30 when you can buy the PC version for about 1/3 of the price

The one thing that I do like is that they have an iOS and Android app to use your smartphone as a controller but that's more of a novelty than anything else.

As a collector, I'll happily let it collect dust next to my micro consoles...
