Gaming laptops

I just ordered this one: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00MVQYUOS

Amazon.de wrote:Acer Aspire Black Edition VN7-591G-755E 39,6 cm (15,6 Zoll Full-HD) Notebook (Intel Core i7-4710HQ, 2,5GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB SSHD, Nvidia GTX860M, Win 8.1, Full-HD IPS Display) schwarz

I did a lot of research and it's best-in-category material:

In practice, this means you could run almost any game on highest settings including AA filters. Some games will require more powerful GPU like Crysis 3 but you’ll be able to run it on very high graphics too. Note that I didn’t include laptops that have a much lower gaming performance, like the Asus Q550LF (GT 745M, touchscreen).

I would currently wait for the new Acer V15 Nitro Black edition deal as it is very cost effective gaming laptop and has some advantages for a $1000 laptop (see review).

This is the one I am getting. Review: http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/acer- ... on-review/

(Great site for gaming laptop reviews, by the way.)

It even looks cool:

It's basically the best gaming laptop that $1,000 can buy right now, and it's also reasonably slim and portable enough to be used as a real laptop. I had my eye on one of those 17-inch 980m monsters from Asus or MSI that go for $2,500, but at that size, and for that price, you can just order a killer desktop rig and lug it around with you. If I had the money to blow on them I would, and maybe I will sometime next year, but for the time being this should do the trick for PA and other tactics/strategy games that are not so reliant on huge screens or the Rift to maximize their effect. And also for working on the site and on my books while on the go, of course.

Amazon says 2-6 working days, but being in the Canaries, I expect it'll take at least a week. Hopefully the Unit Cannon will be in the regular version by then, because I hate playing the PTE, and I'll be online all day to play with any of you niggaz who are up for this awesome shit. I should even be able to use at least mid detail settings for once, or maybe even Uber for, say 2v2s or 3v3s. Can't wait.

I've been using an Alienware m17 with a RTX 2070 recently that I bought for my Europe trip.

So far, it's been running very well and it's what I've been using for my latest streams on the Twitch channel. I haven't run anything graphically intense on it, but I expect it will do well even while streaming. I'll be trying out Crackdown 3 on Twitch soon, so check it out if you see me live or check out the VOD as soon as it's available. Anyway, the laptop itself is pretty light for a 17.3" laptop, though the power brick is pretty big lol. Full specs and where I bought it here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/alienware- ... l=nosplash

I bought this on short notice, so it was a pretty hefty price to pay at $2,500. PC Gamer advertised a laptop with equivalent hardware for a cheaper price at $1,899 with their coupon: https://www.pcgamer.com/save-dollar120- ... -rtx-2070/

MSI has been putting out limited quantities of select models of their gaming laptops with outrageously good case designs. This is the last-gen GE66 Raider. It's no longer available, unfortunately.

Even better is the current-gen Tiamat Edition of their GE76, which is currently the fastest gaming laptop in the world. This is also sold out, though they may make more units at some point. But it's clearly the most stylish laptop ever: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE76-Raider- ... iamat-10UX

MSI wrote:Originated from Babylonian mythology, Tiamat, the mother of all gods, is now awakened and possess unparalleled power. Now, ride on the GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat, leading the divine beasts that carved on the Ishtar Gate. Under the blessing of Tiamat, follow her to revolt and join the battle against evil forces. Just as powerful as the legend, GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat will lead you to create a legendary glory.

All the symbols are etchings, not just decals.

I don't see why all gaming laptops couldn't have similar stylings, and I don't see why an arms race hasn't started on this between the companies. The Tiamat is a $3,000+ machine, surely the kind of person buying it wouldn't mind spending an extra $100 to get a killer look as well. Conversely, it must really suck for those who are spending that kind of money NOW to get a laptop, and CAN'T get any of the above designs because MSI released such limited numbers and such limited models that they are practically impossible to get. We are at the point where companies are selling gaming FRIDGES and you can't get anything other than plain black or gunmetal on a gaming LAPTOP???
