Game dropped yesterday. A side-view 2D action game loosely based on Chinese mythology from the looks of it. Seems to have taken a lot of inspiration from Vanillaware as far as the art style though I'm not sure if it's on quite the same level as their work. Much better than most of the other games in the same genre on Steam (it's a Steam exclusive at the moment). The screenshots don't really display it but the game seems to have stages judging by the first trailer. For a while I thought it was gonna be a boss-rush but thankfully, that's not the case. The trailer showed off some of the mechanics too, there's air-dashing, sword combos/chains, and her weapon can even transform apparently. A few of the attacks give me DMC vibes the way they launch the enemy into the air. She also has at least one large-scale attack and perhaps some sort of transformation herself. Hoping the mechanics are as good as the aesthetics. The fact that they posted three or four different trailers focusing on her attacks at least shows they put some thought into it. If that's the case, we might have a classic here.

It's a poor imitation of Vanillaware in terms of aesthetics. A Chinese knock-off and nothing more. On top of having almost no animation.

The mechanics, on the other hand, do seem far better than those of Vanillaware games, but that's not exactly hard to do.

Choppy as all hell and borderline ugly to boot. I can see why they are only asking seven bucks for it.
