"ProjectBoundary(PB)" is the temporary name for a indie FPS project under developing by a compact team(2 members) called "the Scalpels".

The project focus on describe the experience of near future tactical environment.Players can maneuver and combat in free space or on planet surface station.

The game set mostly in zero-or-low-gravity, where players combat in space or in lunar colonies or mars stations.

Players assume the roles of astronauts battling as mercenaries or pirates.

Maneuvering in jet-propulsion space suits, players use electric-gas-operated-recoil-balanced weapons to kill or disable opposing astronauts or androids. Players can also compromise the integrity of their opponents' spacesuits by tossing grenades, shooting air tanks, or using close-up melee attacks to disturb the functions of space suit.

(description pictures not ready yet)

Every part of the soldier's accessories, suits and weapons is fully customizable.
Every thing is modulated and are free to assemble, with out any limitations.

The customization is not limited to looking, the functions is also fully customizable.

For example,if a player get a ejection modular,he or she can then eject virtually any thing that can be tossed away, form bullets to grenades, even ice blocks, rocks or debris, and, when he or she decide not to use it as a weapon, then he can put it on his suit to get extra power or reversed thrust.

To minimize the difficulty to start playing,
the controls is made as simple as possible,
while the experience of reality of combat in space is not weaken any bit.
Player will have three axis to maneuver with at ease.

compare to regular shooting games that snap to the X-Y 2D plane,Project Boundary allow player to operate in 3D space.
On the other hand,if a player is not using the 3D maneuver method,he can still play the game without any problem, only with lesser space age fun;)
There won't be any major control problems for regular game players to start enjoy this game.

And, Project Boundary will be able to support Virtual Reality input device,
such as Oculus Rift™

It's the near future.

Rapid developing material technology gave birth to the super strong carbon nano tubes, using which man built giant space elevators that kilometers in diameter at ease, even a small lab with little resources can build a reasonable one.

Transporting by space elevators not by expensive rockets or shuttles, space became a much, much cheaper place to go.

The space burst into life quickly, out there people easily go beyond government controls.

It's the boundary of old way of life and the new one.

Compare to the heavily crowded and tightly confined earth, people love space. They flooded into the uncharted ocean of heaven, putting hands on every thing they can have a grasp.

Merchants, pirates, mercenaries, government power, they eat and get eaten.

The age of universal discovery and great competition is coming.

Sony moneyhatted it. ... tation-vr/

Jamie Feltham wrote:‘Project Boundary’ is an Intriguing New Sci-Fi Shooter for PlayStation VR

Earlier this month we heard that Three One Zero’s ADR1FT unfortunately wasn’t planned to support PlayStation VR. It was sad news for sure, but perhaps Project Boundary could help ease the pain.

According to A9VG, this is a new space-set multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) that was announced for Sony’s upcoming VR headset at the PlayStation press conference ahead of the ChinaJoy event today. It’s developed by a Chinese studio named Surgical Scalpels. Set in the near future, space travel has quickly become very affordable thanks to the invention of space elevators. As such, a new breed of governments, merchants, pirates, mercenaries, and outlaws are born in a race to plunder the universe of valuable goods. From the sounds of it, that’s what you’ll be fighting for.

ProjectBoundary trailer 2015 06 05

You can see the first trailer for the game above. It doesn’t look especially optimized for PS VR, but it’s also coming to regular PlayStation 4 systems, so we’re likely looking at footage captured with that version. Still, it’s visually stunning and the zero gravity gameplay looks great, at least for standard screens. We’re eager to see how a physics defying shooter such as this will hold up on a VR headset, though we suspect that it’s likely to start making us feel sick before too long. We’ll have to try it out for ourselves before we can tell.

If it’s any consolation, we recently went hands-on with another space-set multiplayer VR game in Detached, and found it to be a surprisingly comfortable experience. There’s proof this type of experience can work in VR, then, we just hope the same applies to Project Boundary. For now, the game is only confirmed to release in mainland China, though hopefully we’ll see a release for other regions confirmed in the run up to PS VR’s launch on October 13th. Until then, you can find out more about the game on its official website.

The ChinaJoy press conference also confirmed that China would get the kit in October too, though it will be more expensive and have fewer games.

Added to Most Wanted section, replacing Mass Effect: Andromeda, which has now been released.

Project Boundary officially titled Boundary, launches worldwide in 2019 ... de-in-2019

Sal Romano wrote:Developer Surgical Scalpels has announced that the PlayStation China Hero Project-sponsored tactical first-person shooter Project Boundary is now officially titled Boundary and will be released worldwide for PlayStation 4 in 2019. Xbox One and PC versions are also under consideration.

Surgical Scalpels wrote:About

Initially announced as part of the China Hero Project, Boundary was the first title that received funding support to broaden high quality Chinese developed titles to a global market. Project Boundary as it was previously known is designed as a tactical shooter styled with a light MOBA design and feel to it. Developer Surgical Scalpels had also researched VR during its initial testing phase of the project but has chosen to focus on a standard PS4 version with a potential conversion to Xbox One and PC later on. Now known simply as Boundary, the Surgical Scalpels team aims to deliver a fast and agile tactical multiplayer shooter for PS4 fans sometime later this year

Set in a not too distant future Boundary blends Science Fiction with a modern military theme. First and foremost Boundary is being positioned as a tactical multiplayer FPS with a focus on fast arcade inspired gameplay (light MOBA). This is a game that see’s aggressive zero gravity Interdiction missions against mercenaries, pirates and hijackers represented by a team versus team multiplayer set up.

Boundary is primarily a multiplayer game, it does not have a single player story. Multiplayer gameplay is kept fast and agile with a five-versus-five team setup. Modes will include Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Facility Capture, and Orbital Purge modes, the latter of which—Facility Capture and Orbital Purge—are based around Domination and Elimination gameplay. Multiplayer matches are designed to incorporate aggressive combat and quick gameplay mechanics.

Maps & Modes

A variety of multiplayer maps are planned for Boundary and include a solar farm, museum, circular complex, orbital fuel station and a spacecraft debris field. Further details and a closer look at these locations will be revealed this year at Gamescom. Four multiplayer modes will be available at launch: TDM, FFA, Facility Capture, and Orbital Purge.

Official Teaser Trailer:

There's more information about the game's features in the article, but I just wanted to highlight the information above to illustrate how much the game has changed since its initial announcement. I'm not as excited for the newer version of Boundary, and I'm sad to also hear that the PSVR version has ceased development.

Boundary launches in Early Access for PC on April 13 ... n-april-13

They have some new screens up on the Steam page. It will be only $25. Not sure if I am interested any more. I bet I'll be thinking "Why am I not playing Star Citizen instead?" while playing this. It would probably have to get stellar reviews for me to bother with it.

This just came out and already has 1,438 reviews, which means it has been selling well. The rating is "Mixed" though.

I went through the reviews and there's no in-depth analysis yet. In fact I've rarely seen such useless reviews. The only one that seems remotely useful is this: ... ed/1364020

Apothicon wrote:The gunplay feels excellent and the way mechanics such as healing and the minimap work is great, but the atmosphere (or lack thereof) is *very* bland which makes it hard to stay interested in for longer than a match or two. I also do not like the specialist system this game has. Additionally, not being able to turn down the extremely annoying voice of the announcer is... annoying.

I suppose this is somewhat helpful too: ... ed/1364020

BasicallySquare wrote:This game is amazing so far, but the devs need to push out updates fast otherwise this game will start dying quick. I understand the game JUST came out but this game lacks content a lot of content. To the devs, maybe add a store system or a battlepass system?

I don't know what "content" means in the context of a versus FPS, but that's basically the main reason I don't feel like playing this: I might as well boot up Star Citizen and go to Kareah to fight other players, and if I do well I'll end up with loot that I can use to strengthen my org and launch into further adventures. I mean, I can use the SC loot to buy SPACESHIPS. WTF can I use Boundary loot for?
