[PC] [MAC] Crusader Kings II

After everyone had left, Masa and I tried playing again for a couple of hours. No more crashes, but Masa kept being dropped every 20 minutes or so (I was always hosting). We had saves of course, but there didn't seem to be an option for him to rejoin me when I loaded a saved game. So we'll need to find how someone can rejoin a game.

It looks like we'll have to try and see if the LAN option is more stable.

As for the game, it's my first Paradox game, and it's very strange. It has few similarities with any other game I've ever played. In sum, I would say that the "diplomacy" aspect is extremely complex, but the city-building and tactical aspects are very shallow. So it's a weird combination I've never encountered before, and I don't know what to make of it. The complete lack of balance just makes everything even weirder.

23:13 - icycalm: i am disappointed with paradox games
23:13 - icycalm: no tactics, no city building
23:13 - Masahiro9891: really?
23:13 - icycalm: they feel very old school
23:13 - icycalm: like from the early 90s
23:13 - icycalm: and that's not a good thing
23:13 - Masahiro9891: the tactics are there but it's really number heavy
23:14 - icycalm: you don't understand what tactics means i think
23:14 - icycalm: maybe there are tactics in hearts of iron
23:14 - icycalm: but in crusader kings there's almost none
23:14 - icycalm: the entire game takes place on a map for fuck's sakes
23:15 - icycalm: there are games from the 80s that have more detail
23:15 - icycalm: i mean it's a great map, but it's not enough
23:15 - icycalm: i would still give the game a 5/5 so far
23:15 - icycalm: but i was expecting more
23:15 - icycalm: i was expecting to be blown away like I was with Civ or AoE
23:15 - icycalm: we should try anno
23:16 - Masahiro9891: anno?
23:16 - icycalm: it's the fucking 21 century, i want to see the stuff i make get built
23:16 - icycalm: yeah google anno
23:16 - ChevRage: Sure. Let me know which one whenever we're going to play
23:16 - icycalm: it's a series of city builders
23:16 - icycalm: but macaw says there's war too in them
23:17 - ChevRage: I've tried anno 1404 for a little bit
23:17 - icycalm: is there war?
23:17 - ChevRage: but I don't think you can build units
23:17 - icycalm: lol
23:17 - ChevRage: There's like a bunch of islands and ships
23:17 - icycalm: i hope you are wrong
23:17 - ChevRage: ships can attack other ships
23:19 - icycalm: the latest is called anno 2070 and it's sci-fi
23:19 - ChevRage: Actually I just remembered you can get mercenaries somehow, but I never played for long enough to find out
23:19 - icycalm: macaw says it's the best
23:19 - ChevRage: or how they are useful
