Fun if janky trailer. This jumped up high on my most wanted list. I like the Western sci-fi aesthetic for the town.

As you explore a space colony, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

Game looked lame to me in its unveiling, and it still looks lame to me from its launch trailer. I was thinking that maybe they'd reveal more character later, but unless the trailer is a bad trailer that doesn't do the game justice, there doesn't seem to be any character to this game. The setting and environments are generic af, character and monster designs are mediocre at best, the mech designs are out of the Titanfall school of pipes and buckets clamped together, and the only aspect of the entire game that evokes some feeling of wonder in me is the main illustration. And that scene in the trailer with the cryopods and the planets and rings in the starry background. But that's about it.

Some of the combat and movement options seem decent, for the genre. Either way I have zero excitement over here unless a good reviewer manages to convince me otherwise.

Why do the female characters in The Outer Worlds lack traditionally feminine features?
