Sega Announces Shining Force Cross
Arcade-based Action RPG to launch in winter.
04.15.09 - 9:09 PM

The newest addition to Sega's long-running RPG franchise Shining Force, Shining Force Cross, has been announced in Japan today. The arcade-based title is an online Action RPG. In addition to a single player story mode, arcade fans across Japan will also be able to join forces (in parties of up to four characters) and embark on a joint adventure. Game data will be saved on IC cards.

Shining Force Cross is developed by the team behind the popular arcade title Quest of D (also an online Action RPG). At the end of each stage, a giant boss will await the player(s). Depending on the equipped weapon, a character's attacks will vary.

Shining Force Cross is currently scheduled to undergo location testing at three locations in downtown Tokyo (Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku) from May 2nd to 4th. Sega is aiming for a winter 2009 launch of the commercial release.

Or if they didn't want players to credit feed, since basic design choices all point to COIN OP.
