Not only the big laser beams but also the the player ship's homing lasers behave suspiciously much like those in Border Down. Some designs, like the beam weapon itself (close-up at ~1:45) are also very reminiscent of it.

What's interesting about it is the Darius Burst DX Pack Special CD, which features (among other tracks) a complete recording of Darius Twin's soundtrack (not that the music is any good, but still, interesting choice...).
