[PC] Wargame: AirLand Battle

Unread postby Fudge » 18 May 2013 16:28

Sequel to Eugene System's RTT Wargame: European Escalation. The main draw of the sequel is of course the introduction of fixed-wing aircraft but the campaign has also been given what seems to be a turn-based element, similar to that seen in Rise of Nations, and the IRISZOOM engine has been improved slightly.

It is 1985. Tired of repeated provocations from the United States, the USSR strengthens its military capabilities and rises to the challenge of the confrontation. After several months of growing tension, an incident in the North Sea sparks an escalation. All over the world, Pact and NATO forces are mobilized and set the world on fire. As neither camp dominates the main front in Germany, fate hangs in the balance in Scandinavia...

Find yourself at the head of all military forces involved, with more than just tanks, as planes make a dramatic entrance in this series, with 100 aircraft of all kinds to complete your arsenal: fighters, bombers, electronic warfare aircraft, etc. Four new nations and their vehicles join the eight nations from Wargame European Escalation, for a total of over 800 vehicles and combat units! The game experience is enhanced by the brand new version of the IRISZOOM Engine, offering even larger and more detailed game maps with impressive landscapes rendered from satellite imaging.

Once again, the world is at war. Prepare your armies; the outcome of this conflict now depends entirely on you.

Dynamic campaign trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBbweCyV3Io

Narrated by Cédric Le Dressay, CEO of Eugen Systems, this video explains in two minutes all there is to know about the fascinating, dynamic campaign of Wargame AirLand Battle. The video lets us discover all the original game mechanics of this innovative game mode, which would-be generals will get to experience for the first time next week, be it solo or in multiplayer against another player!

You will first handle in this campaign your army and your battle groups, on a huge strategic map representing Europe: ordering movements, asking for reinforcements, but also launching support strikes such as intelligence missions, special forces strikes, satellite spying, bombardment, tactical nuclear attacks, etc...

When a zone is under attack and you need to defend it, or when you send your own battle groups to assault, you are thrown at the heart of the spectacular battles happening in real-time. Your army is persistent all along the campaign: your units and battle groups will earn experience, making them perform better with every battle they survive.... but keep in mind losses are definitive as well!

Only a few more days before a new worldwide conflict begins! Wargame AirLand Battle will be available for PC on May 30th.
