I've always found the, "blame video games" stance, to be a scapegoat, so that the politicians can look like they are being active in a search to end violence.

Opinions?
Well you can run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.

I don't really think there is much to discuss on this subject, they are simply blaming the new thing for being the source of all evil. It has been going on for ages and it works because many are so concerned with being "safe" that they fear anything that they haven't seen before, that and they are too lazy to actually do some research to even try to get their facts straight.

This topic would make a good gamefaqs question of the day.

That's because you are not thinking.

In other news: scientists are stupid.

As if "violence" is not merely the most direct, effective expression of empowerment. In other news, multiple stab wounds may shorten monkeys' lives:

A just-released research report claims that playing violent video games makes players "comfortably numb" to the pain and suffering of others.
