The new free game for XBL Gold members is "A World of Keflings", whatever the fuck that is:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/games-wi ... r=shellnav

Everything is either something old that everyone already has, or something new and shitty. At least with the former we get downloadable versions so we don't have to use our discs, but the latter ones are an insult. Better to simply offer one decent game a month instead of this bullshit. The reaction would have been far more positive that way.

Lots of combat flight simulator games on sale on the Xbox Marketplace if you have Gold: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Promo ... loftheweek

One of them, Birds of Steel, has a Simulator difficulty level:

http://www.destructoid.com/review-birds ... 4879.phtml

Maurice Tan wrote:Simulator mode cranks the physics up a notch, and removes HUD info to make it nearly impossible to tell your airspeed without looking down at your instruments in the cockpit view.

The flight control systems that lie beneath the hood make for an impressive feel, turning the mere act of controlling your airplane into as much of a challenge as actually completing objectives. Flying feels dangerous, as if humankind wasn't meant to be inside a tin can with wings and guns attached to it, let alone using it to wage war in the skies over conflict zones. Try to make a dive-bomb run on Simulator, and you'll even need to extend the air-brakes to control your speed lest the stress of aerodynamic physics turns your plane into a heap of metal, crashing to the Earth below.

It also has online co-op.

Got the Fallouts, thanks for the heads-up. For some reason I am only interested in GOG when they give stuff away. Probably has to do with the lack of the "Xbox Live" feel that Steam has.

A new "bundle" store:

http://www.bundlestars.com/

Lots of great deals, and redeemable on Steam.

What a stupid idea these "bundles" are. Why not just call it a normal store? I guess they are manipulating the human scarcity mentality, and well, it's working and benefits all sides, so why not.

Humble Weekly Bundle: Japan Edition. Has Astebreed for $10, Ys Origin and Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae for $6. Some people on NeoGAF think that One Way Heroics, a roguelike which is in the "pay what you want" group, is good:

Sale on at Origin: https://www.origin.com/en-au/store/deal ... eldblowout

Get up to 70% off on everything Battlefield, and grab enormous discounts on other great action games! 50% off Mass Effect, Crysis, Dead Space and more.

More interestingly though, Battlefield 4 and Kingdoms of Amalur have "Game Time" at the moment, the former a week and the latter two days. If you don't know what Game Time is, it is a promotion by EA in which you can add the game to your Origin library for free while the promotion is running. After that you can download and launch the game whenever you want (even after the promotion has ended) and play for the allotted time. So for example with Battlefield 4 you could play it for 7 days after launching the game. The allotted time counts down whether you are playing the game or not. I am not sure if there is a limit to how long after the promotion you can launch the game but I haven't seen anything that indicates that there is. When Titanfall had Game Time a while ago I launched it around 1-2 weeks after the the promotion had ended.

Game Time page: https://www.origin.com/en-au/store/free-games/game-time

This page says that the Game Time promotion for Battlefield 4 ends on August 14:
