Shoot'em Up!
Pythetron is a new evolution in the old school 2d shoot'em up (or shmup) genre built on a modern game engine utilizing advanced physics and 3d environments, with detailed models, animation, and sound. Additionally Pythetron takes a new direction in gameplay by allowing the game's pacing to be controlled by the player and allowing the player to explore the galaxy in a non-linear manner.
The key to making the gameplay exciting is to take what works from a multitude of game styles and implement it to create the next evolution in shoot em up games.
Features from the old school shooter...
Massive weapons - Who doesn't like watching their ship go from a pea shooter to a machine of total destruction?
Easy to master controls - Keep it simple. You can move, you can accelerate, and you can shoot.
Hordes of enemies - Never a dull moment as you encounter several unique enemy types on your journey across the galaxy.
The new features...
Acceleration controlled by player - See how fast you can blaze through each level, earning more points and unlocking more levels.
Lots of permanent upgrades - Earn money and buy dozens of upgrades including several different weapon upgrade paths.
Longer overall gameplay with saves - If you're up for it, see if you can master all 50 levels.

It's hilarious how every single retard euroshmup developer thinks that they are not making a euroshmup and that their "innovations" haven't already been tried hundreds of times by dozens of other retarded euroshmup developers (weapon shops! longer levels! soulless shiny aesthetics!) And this is because they just got into the genre and know nothing about it. Then they shit their omg innovative euroshmup turd, no one cares about it, and they exit the genre as swiftly as they entered it, leaving nothing behind except their unwanted, unplayable turd of a game.
