[PC] [360] [PS3] Front Mission Evolved

The big consoles, and especially the 360, are seriously lacking in SRPGs (and strategy games in general), so this would be great if true. The two other SRPGs on the system I am aware of are Operation Darkness (completely awesome game, been meaning to write a review for months) and Zoids Alternative (I have it but haven't played it yet, though I do hear it's crap).

Another two 360 SRPGs that come to my mind are Spectral Force 3 ~Innocent Rage~ and Absolute: Blazing Infinity, although the latter is a port of an older PS2 game and a Japan exclusive, too.

There's also Diario: Rebirth Moon Legend and Apocalypse ~Desire Next~, again by Idea Factory, and both of them ports of PS2 games.

All of these are mostly terrible though. Idea Factory's stuff barely qualifies as games, which is why I tend to pretend they don't exist.

It will be called "Front Mission Evolved" (thread titled edited), and will also come out on PS3.

It seems that it will be a "TPS" though, which I take to mean third-person shooter :(

That's what "evolved" means these days! Turn-based strategy games "evolve" to third-person shooters! Whatever will they think of next!

It's being done by Double Helix as well, so they'll probably treat the mecha like human protagonists (much like many American developers really). I'll be very surprised if they pull this off.

IC's thread on the game (which Ollie is posting in) is worth reading:

It's also coming out for Windows-based PCs.
