I particularly like these two:

Have to say that the bow does not suit the suit-wearing gimp very much. You'd think he'd have a more effective futuristic gadget by then.

Leaked footage:

Seems legit to me. The opening part with the water effects and classical music is awesome. But it underscores the fact that Crytek made a mistake to turn to full-on sci-fi. The tropical setting is so much better when the are actual humans involved, as in Predator, Rambo, etc., and indeed the first Far Cry, instead of a gimp in a suit and a bunch of monsters. I haven't played any of the Crysis games, but from what I've seen of them the plot seems to be devoid of any actual character-related development, which in turn probably makes the experience far less immersive.

Anyway, I need to go home and built a new PC.

Hmmmm... video was posted 8 months ago, and I can't really find any other site reporting it, so it's probably fake. Is it from Crysis 2 or something?

Given that no one outside of Crytek even knew Crysis 3 was in development until April 11 this year, I'd say it's a custom level made using the Crysis 2 editor. It even has the same suit HUD as Crysis 2 and uses the palm trees from Crysis 1.

The fact that Crysis 2, or even Crysis 1 footage could be mistaken for Crysis 3 demonstrates how much the consoles have held back graphics development in this insanely long cycle. I should be able to tell the difference right away, from a mere screenshot (as in the old days!), between one game and the next, and now we are watching videos and can hardly tell the difference.

Rasmus Højengaard wrote:We’ll have more openness than we had in Crysis 2, but we won’t go full-on, explore-an-island like we did in Crysis 1. Also, because we don’t feel it’s necessary. With the way people play games today, it’s almost too hardcore to have that openness. You’re going to have a group of people that really appreciate that, but you’re gonna alienate a lot of people.

They basically lost the plot after Far Cry, and Ubisoft (the "evil mane streem publisher") picked it up and ran with it. Which goes to show how much more artistically minded the mane streem publishers can be compared to dumb money-grabbing developers. All hail Ubisoft, as far as I am concerned.

Too bad the Crysis games have better graphics. EA should start whipping Crytek to follow Ubisoft's lead. If Far Cry 3 is awesome and sells shitloads, perhaps they will.

Crytek has confirmed a Crysis 3 release date of February 19 in US and February 22 in Europe.

Albert Hughes, the co-director of films such as Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, From Hell and Book of Eli, is producing a cinematic video series for Crysis 3.

The debut episode, 'Hell of a Town', will be released on December 12, 2012, and you can watch a teaser trailer below.

The Crysis 3 multiplayer beta kicks off today on consoles and PC, and Crytek has released a gameplay tutorial video offering an overview of the trial's two modes.

Our session was limited to just two multiplayer modes, exactly the same as you'll experience in the Crysis 3 multiplayer beta tomorrow. The first, Crash Site is a standard, though nonetheless very enjoyable king of the hill-style affair, where you battle to hold and secure a series of moveable locations.

Far more intriguing though is Crysis 3's Hunter gameplay mode. In the PC version, up to 14 players take the role of a variety of Cell operatives whose drop ship is taken down (rather comically) in the introduction to each mission. Facing them are two hunters armed 'only' with infinite nano-suit cloaking and deadly Predator bows who are charged with stalking and taking out the Cell operatives within a strict two minute time limit. Once a Cell operative is downed, they respawn as a hunter and turn on their former comrades.
