I picked Aric as both healer and a potential foil to Warner.

So as you might have noticed, Aric has a brother, Thorne Ironsoul, picked by ysignal [ > ]. When I was making the heroes and saw these two illustrations by Fox, I knew I wanted to make them brothers and see what I could do with it. I suppose I was hoping that one player would grab both (I actually wanted to grab them myself lol, I've fantasized about an all-paladin party for years), but perhaps it's even better and more complex this way. Maybe you could have the two of them form a party plus two other heroes by other players, and go on standalone adventures? Or they could operate in totally different parts of the world and keep in touch via correspondence, or they could even be estranged. There's the roleplaying angle which you can take in any direction you want that makes sense, and there's the mechanical angle which is that I will use the camaraderie points system in the "Relationships" chapter of Ultimate Kingdoms 179-184 to give advantages to strongly bonded characters, with a view to incentivizing husband-wife parties and so on. In the case of siblings, however, I am thinking of giving these advantages without having to spend camaraderie points. So family gets free CP basically.

You can chat with ysignal about these possibilities in the #master-of-heroes Discord channel, or via private DM (though I want to be added to any private conversation happening about any aspect of Battlegrounds), or even in these threads. You can also not chat about this matter at all, and just let the heroes find their way across the world, and if they happen to meet, they met, and if not, they didn't. There are many plausible roleplaying explanations for why things would work out this way, and you can pick one to write in the heroes' bios whenever you want, or when they meet their ends. Or I could write it myself based on the heroes' exploits.

In short, there's nothing to be done on this matter right now, or basically ever. You can put as little or as much thought and work into it as you want, and at any time.
