More interestingly (perhaps), Famitsu has interviewed 5 PB. Game Nyarth mentions them saying that Dai-Ou-Jou and Ketsui are just the first in a 360-focused shooting trend:

None of these screens show anything that would warrant a "shield".

Can't be worse than Aegis Wing.
