[PS3] [X360] Bladestorm: Hyakunen Sensou

Yet another 3D mass brawler from our buddies at KOEI. Apparently, the action will be at least somewhat more tactical than in the Musou games, but who knows. I think there's a demo on the Japanese PS Store but I haven't tried it yet. Comes out August 30th.

The regular edition will cost 8,190 yen and there will be a Premium Box for 10,479, and a version of the 60GB PS3 with the game as pack-in for 64,980 yen.

Also, according to MS the Xbox 360 version should come out fashionably late, sometime before the end of the year.

Japanese games with Medieval European themes always turn me on, but this pretty much looks like the same shit as Kessen 3, I would've preferred a straight-up brawler (although Omega Force seems content on keeping the musou games as stale as possible)

Koei should copy what Ikusa Gami did and have something ridiculous like 70,000 dudes on screen at once. Instead the next gen musou stuff has been identical to the ps2/xbox games but with better graphics.

Yeah, I also love it when the Japanese do Medieval-themed games. It's one of the major attractions of the Fire Emblems for me.

As for Ikusagami, I've always wondered about that game. Is it any good?

Not really, the tactical aspects (moving troops around and such) don't work at all, and the actual action itself is dull and unsatisfying. However, its still amazing going into the huge battle stages and running into the mass of 65,000 enemies all onscreen at once.

I hope they make a sequel, drop all the troop commanding aspects and improve the fighting. That would be awesome.
