Announced back in May, this will be a remake of the original SFC Star Ocean, and it will be developed by Tri-Ace themselves. Thankfully, it's being done in 2D.

Can't wait for both this and the SO2 remake, as I missed them both the first time around. Since then, tri-Ace has managed to put out some of my favorite RPGs (esp. Valkyrie Profile), so it'll be interesting to see how they handle two older ones.

"Spec" and "Special" sections of the official website have been updated.

Also, release date set for 27th of December, and there will be a limited edition PSP system called the "Eternal Edition", which will be white with some lameass stickers slapped onto it, and which will retail for 24,840 yen (note: this package includes the game, so it's not a bad deal if you are in the market for a PSP).
