Project Godus by 22cans: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/22c ... ject-godus

It’s an innovative reinvention of Populous, the original god game and delivers exciting global co-operation, competition, creation and destruction to a whole new generation..

The dream at 22cans is to make gaming meaningful. We want to engage people in fresh new ways with accessible, delightful games and experiences. We’re calling them experiments. Curiosity – what’s inside the cube was the first of these and we’re taking what we’ve learnt from it and applying it to future projects such as our next step - GODUS.

Populous was created over 22 years ago, and we believe that to date, nothing has come close to emulating its powerfully godlike experience. It’s this experience we aim to reimagine. GODUS blends the power, growth and scope of Populous with the detailed construction and multiplayer excitement of Dungeon Keeper and the intuitive interface and technical innovation of Black & White. The original Populous hailed from the 8-bit era but GODUS will use the most modern technology the world has to offer.

And you can help us make it!

Apparently Mr. Molyneux finally decided to get involved in something that could be interesting. The game being developed for PC AND mobile devices simultaneously rubs me the wrong way (so much for "the most modern technology the world has to offer"), but let's see how it pans out.

"Powerfully" godlike experience. Has this dude even SEEN a screenshot of this game? It may have been "powerful" in 1989, but even by 1991 standards (Civ) it is pathetic. And to say "NOTHING" has come close SINCE means you've either 1) Played nothing since, or 2) You are a retard, or 3) Realize that your claim is ludicrous yet still say it as a PR tactic, but a PR tactic meant to attract once more either people who have played nothing since 1989 or retards. In all cases, in other words, this claim spells doom for the project. And to read that line and pass it over as something in any way acceptable and undeserving of comment marks you out too, orion_black, as once more an utter ignoramus or an utter retard, I am afraid. And that was a public service announcement brought to you by your friendly neighborhood genuine videogame loverTM.

It's amusing how blatantly transparent their aims were with this group shot. Molyneux is somewhere at the back ("We are communists!"), and the only two females in the group are smack dab in the front ("We are feminists!"), the involuntary message being:

"We are fagets!"

... which is why they are making a faget game. I mean just look at it.
