Nintendo’s first Pokemon game for Wii U will be a followup to the download-only Pokemon Rumble series called Pokemon Rumble U (Pokemon Scramble U in Japan).

The game will feature up to 100 Pokemon battling on-screen simultaneously, assemble all of the franchise’s 649 monsters, and offer up to four person multiplayer. It’s due out on the Wii U eShop this spring in Japan.

Pokemon Rumble U will launch as a download-only Wii U title for 1,800 yen in Japan on April 24, the latest issue of CoroCoro Comic reveals.

Pokemon Rumble U uses NFC Pokemon figures, which store training data, to bring Pokemon into the game. You can purchase these toys for 200 yen each. If you pre-order the download card for the game at a Pokemon Center store, you will receive a special Pikachu figure as a bonus. Get a better look at these toys at the game’s official website.
