Baudrillard is always at his best when challenging an adversary. Forget Foucault is a case in point. The essence of his method is polemical (from Greek "polemos", war). His goal was not to engage his adversary in dialogue, but to create a non-dialectical space in which adversaries are locked in a close fight that requires an immediate response -- or death. "Challenge alone is without an end since it is indefinitely reversible. It is this reversibility which gives it its prodigious force" (FF, p. 56).
